[SoulWorker] Erwin×Haru Oneshots (read description)

Her concerns

Spoilers ahead; I haven't read that part of story till the end, so I'm writing what's been on my head

It's a late evening. In two days our Soulworkers have to move to the East for new missions.

Everyone starting to pack things, since their time being there will obviously be a long one.

Erwin laying on his bed tried to sort all the recent events, but after spending quite a time he decided to better spend last days in West with the meaning. For example... For example starting with Haru! He must have a talk with her. Out of his own concern about her he must ask about her opinion about everything.

He energeticly stood up and went straight forward to Haru's room. Corridor of their bedroom floor in headquarters was dark. Erwin could see light coming from others rooms through door gaps. But no light coming from Haru's room. Is she asleep?

Arclight knocked not so loud to her room, but heard no response.

"She's probably asleep.." thought he and was about to go back, when he heard door's creak.

"Huh? Erwin? Sorry, I was just taking a nap" said Haru awkwardly smiling at him.

"No no, I didn't want to wake you up. We can talk tomorrow if you feel tired"

"I-it's not like that... Not like I feel tired... After all I'm Soulworker. You can come inside"

"Ok, sorry for disturbing"

"Ahah.. I'm happy with your company any time, Erwin"

They both went back inside in Haru's room. Erwin closed the door behind him. Now Erwin saw Haru's table lamp turned on making it possible to look around her cozy room. It's not like she managed to decorate it much, but her coffee themed bedroom with couple of white cushions on the bed and several plants created some comfort.

Haru sat on the bed leaning closer to the wall and looked at Erwin waiting for him to take a place somewhere. He had some choices like sitting on the bed with Haru, her table chair near bed or her soft breakfast armchair that probably still keeps smell of Haru and her morning coffee. He chose her table chair since he doesn't plan to sit too far from her, but either he wanted to keep distance for Haru's comfort. After all he's uninvited guest at such late time.

"You said you wanted to talk?" Estia asked hugging her knees.

"Actually, I was just curious how are you"

"Hm?"

"How are you feeling lately? It was a lot happening lately. Fight with that silver thread, void fanatics, war with east... You want to tell me anything?"

"Oh! Um... Haha... Honestly... I don't even know what to say" Haru nervously looked around trying to gather her thoughs together. "It's all so mixed up that I can't process it.."

Erwin was sitting quietly waiting for her answer.

"Maybe.. I'm worried right now because of sudden changes?" she bit her lip still trying to find words. "I'm really worried what will happen to us there, at the East.."

"You shouldn't be worried about that, Haru. I don't think they'll touch us"

"You think... But I can't get rid of something saying that they'll do something bad! What if they just kill us? O-or take of experiments... Or even worse-"

"Haru." Erwin interrupted her. "I promise you, everything's gonna be ok"

"B-but..." Haru's eyes started to get wet and her voice sounded shaky.

Erwin sat to her closer on the bed putting his hand on her cheek.

"Hey~ No need to cry.. Where's our strong leader? Come on! We defeated that strong thing and you're crying because of some old men's threats?"

"Uuuu..." Haru was already crying. Erwin's comforting made her melt quicker, but feeling a bit more relieved too. She was looking at him with her sad puppy eyes and shaky lips. Such a baby.

Erwin sighed. He understands that late events may be too much for her at once. He patted her head and layed her in bed.

"Look, we have 2 more days, right? I remember you mentioned how Rocco town's cherry blossoms are still blooming. We could go there for walk tomorrow, what you think?"

" *sob* Th-that would be nice... *sob* "

"That's good. So plans for tomorrow we already have" Arclight held into her hand. "Tell me something more. Let's focus on the good. You were visiting other towns not so long ago. Tell me more..."

They've spent that night together. Erwin's comfort helped Haru to relax. Around him she felt so relieved like her problems were all gone. All what she needed is him by her side, holding her arm, while she layed in bed talking with him. Him stroking her hair made her feel that comfort. Comfort that would give her family? She can't remember anything of her family, but right at that moment she felt that it was the least important thing, when she knows that her family is Erwin.

Haru was almost asleep. She gestured Erwin to lay with her. He did so with no hesitation.

"Thank you for being here... It's so warm with you..."

"Have a good sleep. I'll always be here with you"
