Epilogue

Nick and Selene used a surrogate to have three children, two boys and a girl. They also adopted three children who had been trafficked, adding two more girls and one little boy. Over the years, they fostered a number of children until a permanent home was found. While they had a full-time nanny to help out, Selene and Nick were both very active parents. Time was always made for anything they needed, and they were encouraged to try different things to find out what they enjoyed and excelled at. Their adopted son was troubled, but they worked hard to ensure he had all the best help available to help him.

Tom and Gail married on their 15th anniversary, with Selene as her Maid of Honor and Nick the Best Man. They had two boys and adopted a little girl who Nick and Selene had been fostering. The girl looked so much like Gail and the two had fallen in love immediately.

Paul and Angie's first child was a girl. After three girls, Paul threatened to get a vasectomy, but number four was the boy he wanted. He was named after Paul. He loved all his kids, but he had wanted a son to carry on the family name.

Rachael ended up marrying a bisexual man. His boyfriend lived with them full time. While it was unconventional, it suited her perfectly. After all, she had her best gay friend around all the time to do things with. She had a custom bed make to accommodate the space they needed for sleeping and other activities. While they didn't have children, she doted on all her 'nieces' and 'nephews' from her friends, spoiling them all.

While life was good, it wasn't easy. Selene still had periodic flashacks and their adopted son's struggles sometimes made life difficult. There were arguments, temper tantrums, groundings, and days of headaches, it was all worth it. Selene almost miraculously got pregnant when she was 37, but the amount of scar tissue from the forced abortions had caused complications and she had to have it aborted. They ended up having to do a partial hysterectomy, leaving only her ovaries. Neither of them minded, for they had plenty of other children.

She had to go on anti-depressants for a while after it all, but she recovered. They had known it would not be possible.

Safiya eventually moved onto their property, then into her own apartment later on. She met a very nice, understanding man who patiently wooed her for years before they married. They had two children, making the ever single Ahmed a very happy uncle. He and Safiya had gained full citizenship and were both proud citizens.

Nick and Selene had found a beautiful place in Romania that was large enough to accommodate all their extended families. They stayed there sometimes on Christmas, but it was usually in their estate in New Hampshire, for they simply could find a smaller place that would still accommodate the nearly 20 people they had on the holidays, even if they were piling a bunch of the kids in one or two rooms.

At this time, Nick and Selene had been married nearly 20 years. Some of their children had grown up and moved out. Their oldest child, an adopted daughter who'd picked the name Kelsey, had married and had a child of her own. She had become a teacher, while her slightly younger sister was going into social work, while their second oldest son was geared toward psychiatry. But life is ever changing. Is this the happy ending or is there more in store that will test their unbreakable bond to it's limits?
