The light from the sun hit San's eyes. Gently he opened his eyes, only to meet with Hannah's sparkling eyes.
Hanah: look who's finally awake.
She smiled at him, but he didn't.
San: I'm sorry. I failed, if you want to fire me go ahead.
There was a small silence untill she stayed giggling.
Hanah: That's the first time I've ever heard you apologize. I should get hurt more times just so I experience you like this. All weak.
She gave him a sadistic laugh. Trying to make fun of him.
San: if you don't need me here anymore, I'll be leaving.
Hanah: No you're not.
Before standing up, Hanah's demand made him freeze.
Hanah: Why would I fire you. Weren't you the one who made a promise to me?
San: Hanah! I failed! I could've helped you. It's my job to protect you from harm. And look at yourself! You're the one who's weak!
Hanah felt the dark atmosphere She wanted to lighten the mood.
Hanah: I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that.
She covered her face with the blanket that was keeping her warm.
Hanah: Plus, I like you, your the best body gaurd I had.
Hanah muttered under her breath covered by the blanket. She could feel her face heat up. Hanah never thought she would be saying the word like to San.
San: huh?
San got closer to her, as San tried to stop tears from flowing.
Hanah: I like you.
He let out a small chuckle and hugged her.
San: I'm glad you're okay.
Hanah: yeah me too.
She could feel a cold water soak into her gown. He was crying. Hanah broke the hug between the two looking straight at San.
Hanah: don't cry, we're both safe.
Seeing him have this much emotion towards her made her heart skip a beat. But it also felt like her heart was being squeezed, she didn't like to see him cry. With gentle stroked she wiped off his remaining tears off.
Hanah: There, there's no need to cry anymore.
Hanah sat up from her bed giving him some space. San stepped back a bit stunned, he could feel his face heating up. He shook it off and remained quiet. I comfort silence filled the room. Untill tye doctor came in.
Doc: You're awake.
Hanah: I sure am.
Doc: Here is the copy of the report.
The Doctor handed her some files. Hanah looked at them reading and flipping pages.
Doc: The bullets missed the vital organs. Your shoulder is going to be sore for a few months, one bullet shattered the clavicle. Luckily for both of us, our technology was able to replace the missing pieces, untill it is fully healed. The lower abdomen was extremely lucky. The bullet didn't hit any vital organs or organs. It tore muscle and fatty tissues stopped the bullet going any further. That is why you might feel a little less weight at the moment.
Hanah wasn't on the skinny spectrum, she was fit but had a belly, wide shoulders, hip dips, big thighs, wide hips. Anything that society didn't consider as the ideal women. Hannah was never over weight either. She was in between. After she woke up she did notice something off. Turns out some fatty tissues kept worsening.
