My life took a 360 degree change when I lost my parents. All alone in the whole wide world with my sister Muskaan. We had relatives who had been 'appearing' throughout the years till my parents were alive. Only to get benefitted from us. They turned us back when we were in need, after the death of my parents.
I had to shift to a small apartment with my sister Muskaan who is in her teens. She is 9 years younger than me. Can you imagine? She took away my position of being the only child in my family! I've been pampered by my parents as their little girl for 9 years & this little rascal made my life awful.
You might wonder what kind of a sister am I who calls her sister a little devil! Our story was similar to the sisters, Beezus & Ramona in the series of Ramona written by Beverly Cleary. May be far more complicated than that because my sister is one hell of a sister. I often loose my sanity due to her mischievous actions. No matter how much she troubles me, how often we are at loggerheads I do accept that I love her more than anyone else in the world.
I had to employ myself soon. Our parents had saved some kind of an amount but that would definitely be enough for both of us, specially for my sister who is still schooling. I would have been a doctor, an engineer or atleast a teacher if I hadn't bunked school back then. I wanted to live my life to the fullest, carefree back then. Being unemployed was the ultimate result of that.
My parents were wise enough to pull off me to a ICT course which I used to hate so much. I hated learning. I hated everything related to education! All I want was to stay at home like a princess. But now I understand that nothing is forever, like the assets we had back then. The ICT course brushed up my ICT literacy. Once I wanted to be a journalist but I eventually put those dreams to a trash bin because everyone in my family knew that I sucked in that field.
Somehow the Diploma I earned in ICT became my lucky charm. I applied for a number of the jobs vacancies, failed in interviews 12 times. My life was being a bitch to me! I had given up my hopes. But one fine day I was call upon for an interview in a reputed publishing company in my city. It was my 13th interview. But the number 13 didn't turn out to be unlucky for me. I got the job as a trainee & later promoted to the post of secretary of the Managing director of the company.
Life became horrible once again. My boss sucked big time. Undoubtedly he is the worst employer in the whole wide world. How many times I'd wanted to left the job. Unfortunately I didn't have any choice other than working under a monster.
