Kim's POV

I woke up the next day feeling like absolute shit. On top of that I actually have to get up because I need to go get a COVID test done today. I'm so scared, what if I do have COVID?  I probably already infected the whole house. If they end up sick too I'm going to feel so guilty, especially if Hailey gets this because she has asthma and gets migraines and I'm already having a hard time with headaches with this I can't imagine if she does too. I slowly start to get up and find some leggings to throw on, a sports bra and a sweatshirt and go into the bathroom to brush my teeth. I then go back into my bedroom trying to find some shoes when I hear a knock on the door.

"Hey Kim, how are you feeling" Jay said as I turned around surprised to see him "Like crap, but don't worry I'll keep my distance ok" I said annoyed because I didn't feel like hearing his whole germaphobe spiel "No no, I just wanted to come and apologize, I shouldn't have acted like that knowing you were feeling so crappy. I'm sorry" Jay said wholeheartedly "Wow thanks" I said and then started coughing. As I stopped I started breathing kind of heavy so I sat on my bed trying to catch my breath.

"Are you ok Kim?" I heard Adam say after he rushed in my room "Yeah good just need to catch my breath" I said between breaths "I'll leave you two alone" Jay said as he left to wash his hands I assume. I appreciate the apology but I don't expect him to change, his phobia is valid, at least he seems a little more cool about it. "You ready to go? " Adam asks me as I drink some water "I guess" I say getting up and slipping on my boots and going to get my coat. We then made our way to the car and drove to med, I texted Nat that we were on our way. "Nat said there's a tent around the back of the hospital where we should meet her" I said "Copy that" Adam said as he continued to drive "Don't be nervous, everything will be ok" I took a breath and nodded as we pulled up to med and drove around the back. I put on my mask and walked up to the table to sign in, and they told us to go wait in the car and that Nat would be out shortly to administer the test. I took a breath and waited for Nat to come out to the car.

5 minutes later, Nat came out and knocked on the window. I rolled the window down "Hey Nat" I said tiredly "Hey Kim how are you feeling" Nat asked "Horrible" I said clearing my throat "I'm sorry to hear that Kim, before I give you the test can you tell me all the symptoms you have experienced since you became sick?" Nat asked "Um congestion, really bad headaches, fever, coughing, sneezing, just regular flu symptoms I guess" I said coughing a little "Ok, have you experienced any loss of appetite or shortness of breath?" Nat asked "Yes to both, yesterday I could only eat about 4 bites of toast until I couldn't eat anymore and I had a coughing fit earlier that lead me to breathe a little harder than normal" I said "I see, ok I will be right back with the test and I want to check your oxygen, heart rate, and lungs sit tight" Nat said "Alright" I said as I sat back against my seat with my eyes closed

"Is your head bothering you again?" Adam asked "A little bit yeah ,but I'm also just really tired" I said, my eyes still closed "When we're done here, I'll take you back home, give you some more Tylenol, and you can get some more rest" Adam said as he rubbed my arm. "Here comes Nat" Adam said and I sat up some more and rolled my window back down.

"Ok let me see your finger and can you open your door so I can check your lungs" she said as she put the pulse oximeter on my finger and opened my door. "Ok deep breath in" Nat said as she put the stethoscope on my back under my sweatshirt. I took a deep breath in and tried to hold it but started coughing into my elbow. "Sorry" I said "No worries, here just try to breathe normally" she said as she put the stethoscope back on my back. I do my best to breathe normally as I'm coming down from the coughing fit. "Ok so good news your lungs sound clear, I do hear some congestion in your chest but it's not in your lungs so we don't have to worry right now, alright so are you ready?" Nat said "No but go ahead" I said sighing.
