Gumball x Darwin One Shots

[Gumball POV]
Hello, I'm Gumball Waterson. I have blue hair and black eyes, and I have a best friend called Darwin Waterson. He has orange hair and black eyes, he has fish features, and I have those of a cat.

Some people say fish and cat can't be friends. They're right because I love Darwin more than a friend. But it's weird.. you know.. saying that to him. We're supposed to be brothers, I don't want to ruin the relationship we have at the moment. And I always hated Carrie, because I think she likes Darwin. But none, and I mean NONE will get Darwin because he's MINE!

Anyway, enough about that. There was this crazy thing at school today. Penny and I were sitting in the cafeteria at lunch, when all of a sudden Leslie yelled at Darwin. The poor orange boy cried and left to go to the bathroom. And I, of course, excused myself and went after him, now I'm here in the bathroom. I don't know in which stall Darwin is yet, but I hear sobbing noises.

"Darwin?" I yelled not too loud, then I again heard sobbing, but this time I heard where it came from. It was the third stall, I banged on the door asking for Darwin to open it. But with no luck, "Darwin, please open the door!" I yelled. No response.. "Darwin, I know that you're there. Just open the door."

After a few tries of failing, Darwin finally opened the door. I made my way over to Darwin, closed, and locked the door behind me.

Darwin, are you okay? No response, only sobbing. I hugged Darwin as he tried to speak.

[None POV]
The orange haired boy tried to speak. The only thing that came out of his mouth was a cry for Gumball's affection. At this time, he needed love and support. After a while of Gumball comforting Darwin, Gumball asked, "What happened there? I saw Leslie yell at you." Gumball said softly. "I'd rather not talk about that yet.." Darwin answered while hugging Gumball again. "That's okay, I'm always here for you. But you probably already knew that." Gumball said while giggling.

Darwin also giggled. It seems Gumball cheered him up.

After school, Penny asked Gumball: "Would you like to sit next to me on the bus?" Darwin stood right beside Gumball frowning. "Sorry, Penny. Darwin and I are already sitting next to each other." Just like always.

[Darwin POV]
Penny asked Gumbal: "Would you like to sit next to me on the bus?" I stood right there next to Gumball, frowning. Because this is the first time ever that he sat next to someone else. "Sorry, Penny. Darwin and I are already sitting next to each other." I heard him say, I was very happy of course. Because we always sit next to one another, and I don't really like change.

When everyone in the bus settled down, the bus started and drove off. I was looking out of the window where I sat. "So what's the matter, Darwin?? You look so sad." Gumball said, placing his hand on mine. "I'm just a little upset about what happened during lunch break.." I answered with all honesty. "It's okay, none will ever hurt you when you stay with me." I looked at Gumball with sparkling eyes. He's so sweet. I thought, but said: "Thanks, Gumball."

[Gumball POV]
I was so mad at Leslie, he was always bullying Darwin. I just hate him so much, sometimes I even dream about killing him. Ripping out his roots and eat them.

Me and Darwin came inside. None was home, Mom and Dad were on vacation, and Anais was sleeping over at a friend's. However, she doesn't have friends, so I don't know if I should believe her. Anyway, we were home, and Darwin went straight to the couch. He layed down and hummed his favorite song. Cupid by FIFTY FIFTY. I felt broken because of his little cries. I made my way over to him, and sat down next to him. I knew the lyrics of the song and sang it softly. Darwin looked at me confused.

"You know the lyrics?" He asked me surprised. "Well, yeah. You always sing it, it just stung in my mind for a while." He then chuckled. "Sorry for that." He said while sitting up straight. "No, that's okay. It reminds me of you." I looked deeply into his eyes. This song calms me down, everytime I hear it it reminds me of him.

[Darwin POV]
"No, that's okay. It reminds me of you" Gumball looked deeply into my eyes, I blushed so much at that. I think I like Gumball, but he acts a little strange lately. Always dozing off, always looking with rage at Leslie. I don't know why. But behind his rage, behind his anger, I know him, he is a perfect person for me. He comforts me whenever I'm feeling down, he loves me so much, he is just the perfect guy for me.

"How about we go to the mall and eat there? Mom gave me money for food." Gumball said standing up. "Sounds like a great idea." I answered as I also stood up.

We were at the mall, looking for a place to eat. When suddenly I saw Leslie, I froze like a statue. "I found a place, Darwin!" Gumball ran towards it, but I was still frozen. My mind was blank.

[Gumball POV]
"I found a place, Darwin!" I ran to the place. "Here!" I turned towards Darwin but saw that he was far behind. I quickly ran to Darwin. "Darwin are you okay??" I waved my hand close to his face, but he didn't even flinch. I knew something was wrong immediately. I turned towards the side Darwin was looking at, and indeed, I was right. There I saw him, Leslie. I got filled with rage, Darwin doesn't even feel safe at the mall. I quickly grabbed Darwin's arm and pulled him to the restaurant. We sat down, and I was filled with anger.. No.. Again.. With rage.

So mad that I could attack Leslie right there. Where everyone was staring and where Darwin felt safe(because I attacked him). I wanted Darwin to feel safe wherever he goes. I had a really creepy expression, I knew that because Darwin told me he was scared. "G-Gumball, you're making me scared with that face..." Darwin fidgeted with his hands. "D-Darwin, I'm s-so sorry!" I felt awful for making him afraid.

"What are you thinking about?" Darwin asked me. "Well.. I'm just mad at Leslie.. he shouldn't make you scared like that." I answered him. "Well, Leslie does deserve a second chance Gumball." Darwin said smiling but didn't look so happy. "Are you kidding me, Darwin?! He made you feel unsafe, you froze just because you saw him! He's doesn't deserve anything! Sometimes your kindness is really annoying." I responded almost yelling. The whole restaurant was watching us.

"What are you doing, Gumball?"

I don't even what came over me. When everyone stared at us I grabbed Darwin's arm and pulled him to the restroom, I opened a stall door and locked it behind me. I pinned Darwin against the stall door. "I can't.." I whispered while I rested my head on his chest. "Are you okay??" Darwin asked concerned. "Darwin.. Is it okay, for me.. To hate.. Leslie?" I stammered. "Why? Why do you hate him?" Darwin cupped my cheeks and tilted my head for my eyes to meet his. I was afraid to look him into his eyes, because of my anger.I didn't want him to see me like this, I was afraid of his expression when he saw me like this. So I looked away.

"Tell me, Gumball. I want to know what you're thinking right now." Darwin said softly. It was silent for a moment. Then Darwin said something."Look at me, Gumball." I couldn't look him in his pretty puppy doll eyes.. "Gumball, please look at me." Darwin said again. After a while I did what he told me to. He smiled and said: "It's fine that you hate him, I just want to know why. You're everything to me, so.. please?" I can't tell him that I love him, at least not yet..

"He hurts you, you don't feel safe.." Was the only thing I could say. Darwin chuckled quietly. "Gumball, that's my concern. You know, you don't have to care." He hugged me. "How can I not care.. When I love you.." I gasped, so did Darwin, I felt it. Oh sh*t sh*t sh*t, what did I just say?! I thought. "Gumball.." Darwin stopped hugging me. "Oh no no.. Darwin.. I'm sorry!!" Darwin looked into my eyes. I couldn't tell what expression he had, but it wasn't something bad. "You mean that?" He now looked surprised. "Yes, yes I do." Darwin started crying. "Darwin? Please don't cry.." I felt bad for making him cry.

"I love you to, but no anger.." "Of course, whatever you want!" I hugged him, and he kisses me.
