Lights Are Off | DNF Highschool AU

Dream woke up at 7:30 AM to the sound of his blaring alarm, he groaned before hitting the off button on his alarm. He sat up and stretched before throwing off his comforter.

Dream quickly made his bed, heading to the bathroom. He looked in the mirror, his messy dirty blonde hair was sticking up in every direction possible.

He shrugged it off and thought a shower would help wake him up. He quickly undressed and turned on the water, stepping into the shower. He scrubbed himself clean before stepping out. He wrapped a towel around himself and quickly brushed his teeth before exiting the bathroom.

Dream quickly entered his room and locked his door to ensure his sister doesn't walk in on him, if she's awake that is.

He went to his closet searching for some clothes to wear. After a few minutes of browsing he decided to wear a black shirt with a lime green hoodie and black sweatpants.

Dream threw on his clothes looking at the time before exiting his room "I have time to make some breakfast" he muttered. Dream walked to his kitchen, opening the fridge before he grabbed some eggs. He got out a pan and a spatula and cracked the eggs over the pan to make scrambled eggs for him and his sister.

Once he finished making the eggs, he quickly set it onto two plates before rinsing off the pan. He headed upstairs to wake up his sister.

After the two ate, Dream rinsed off the plates and set them on the counter to dry. He grabbed his back and keys headed to the garage. Dream opened the truck door and stepped in before closing it.

He grabbed his phone to make sure he wasn't late and began to drive to his new school. Dream was a new transfer student and it was only his third day and he'd been hearing rumors of a supposed party animal which piqued his interest.

Once he arrived at school he parked his truck before breathing in and out to try to calm his nerves. He worked up the courage to step out of his truck and head to the entrance. He noticed a group of girls looked his way as he walked to the entrance but he shrugged them off. He checked his schedule before heading to his first period.

About half way through the class a brunette walked in, and by the looks of it nearly everyone except Dream recognized him. He looked around the room quickly before taking a seat in the very back of the classroom. Dream quickly glanced back at him before focusing his attention back to the front of the classroom.

The bell rang and everyone started spilling out of the classroom, heading to their next classes. George however stayed back which Dream noticed but didn't really question, he thought he just might not like the crowded halls.

He checked his schedule again and went into his next class. He pulled out his notebook and pencil and doodled on a page until the bell rang. A few seconds before the bell rang, the same brunette from earlier entered the room, taking a seat in the back again. The bell rang a few seconds later.

Dream glanced back at the brunette, his eyes scanning his over the brunette's figure. He forced himself to look back to the front of the class, but he was unable to focus on anything the teacher was saying, he was too focused on the brunette in the back, questioning why he looked so worn-out.

The bell rang, bringing Dream back in from his trance. He started packing up his stuff before realizing the brunette was asleep. He quickly finished packing up and went to the back of the back of the class to the brunette's desk.

He gently shook the brunette, causing him to stir slightly.

"Hey uhm, the bell rang. I wanted to let you know so you weren't late to your next class," Dream said gently, the brunette looking up at him. "Oh uh, thank you," said the brunette, starting to pack up his things.

"Hey, do you want to eat lunch together?" Dream asked with a smile as the brunette finished packing up.

"Uh sure, I'm George by the way," the brunette–George–said, slinging his backpack over his shoulder. "I'm Dream," He smiled, grabbing his own backpack as they both headed out of the classroom.

They both had Gym as next period and they began to walk to the locker rooms together. Once they arrived at the locker rooms, George started feeling self-conscious, he had cuts and bruises all over his body and he was extremely thin. He hid himself a bit before he started to change. Dream quickly threw on his gym uniform and waited for George to finish. Once George finished they both headed out of the locker room and headed into the gym.

"Alright we're going to start off with a run around the track, then we'll do a quick warm up and play a few rounds of dodgeball," the coach said, earning a groan from everyone at the mention of a run around the track.

Once gym ended the boys headed into the locker room to change. George started feeling self-conscious again and he hoped Dream wouldn't notice. Once they both changed they exited the locker room.

Dream and George had lunch next so they headed towards the cafeteria. Once they got there Dream and George searched for a table where George sat down and Dream went to get lunch as he forgot to pack lunch that day.

The blonde returned to his seat next to George once he got out of the lunch line. The brunette didn't seem to notice him at first until the blonde tapped him on the shoulder, slightly disturbing the brunette who didn't seem to have lunch.

Dream got George's attention, The brunette quickly looked over at the blonde, "Yeah?" George responded. "Do you want this apple?" Dream offered.

George immediately accepted the offer, taking the apple from the blonde's hand and taking a bite. As the blonde started to chow down on his school lunch, the brunette caught the blonde glancing at him every few minutes which sent an unknown feeling in his stomach.

The brunette was puzzled on what this feeling was. The blonde and the brunette engaged in small talk while they waited for lunch to end and head to their next period. The blond quickly checked his next class while they were discussing why Dream transferred.

George excused himself before standing up and heading to the bathroom. Once he entered he saw the jocks, there was a ravenette known as Sapnap some guy named Schlatt who was growing mutton chops and a guy with pink hair known as "Technoblade"

As soon as they caught sight of George they walked up to him. The brunette prepared for the worst but they immediately softened their posture "Yo! aren't you the guy that chugged like 2 bottles of vodka at the last party?" The ravenette–Sapnap–questioned to which the brunette nodded.

The jocks all looked at each other for a second before the pink haired one started talking "We're having another party on Friday if you're down, you can bring a friend if you'd like." His deep, monotone voice caught George off guard but he ultimately accepted thinking he could bring the blonde.

Once he finished his business in the bathroom he returned to the blonde and told him about his plans to which the blonde agreed to go with him.

The bell rang signifying that Lunch had ended and everyone should head to their fourth period. The boys threw away their trash and headed to their fourth period
