Chapter Six

The next two days were a pain. As each new group of Alphas arrived, more and more she-wolves tried to throw themselves into my arms. It got so bad that I had Aaron and Brita standing as guards in front of me. Pandeia and I decided that she wouldn't be with me to meet anyone else until it was time to make the announcement. We didn't want to have anymore uncomfortable interactions like had taken place with Katie and Alpha Tyler. The announcement would be happening soon. The ball starts in about two hours. Everyone was currently get ready and we're set to be in the ball room at 7pm. Pandeia would be in the ball room hidden in an alcove near the stage.Aaron will place her there to make sure that she isn't seen before we want her to be. I know some (especially the she-wolves) aren't going to believe she's who we say. Because of this Pandeia choose to wear a simple but elegant white gown with a corset back and sleeves that give her the ability to move. She decided on this dress in case she is asked to prove her powers or fend of  jealous she-wolves as she put it. 

Pandeia is more than willing to show her powers and voluntarily offered to do so if c allied upon. I want to fight her on this but had to agree when she said this might be the only way to prove any naysayers wrong. I finally caved and agreed to let her handle this in her own way. I couldn't help but cave when I looked into her eyes. Even though we haven't mated and have only kissed a few t imes, every moment spent with my mate had me falling more in love with her everyday. We plan on maiting and marking each other once everyone has gone home after the ball. Everyone should be gone within 3 days. The three days are used to allow and newly mated pairs to get  to know one another and to arrange for any  she-wolves to go to their new packs. It is very rare for  the male to move and generally the ones that do are of lowly rank and  use a move to try and better their ranking. Noting the time, I head off to my room to get ready for the ball. 

The ball room was a buzz with noise. Everyone in attendance eagerly awaited the arrival of the Alpha King. There have been rumors the last couple of days that he had a big  announcement to make. Many of the unmated she-wolves had tried to info out of the palace staff when they heard them talking about it but they refused. So they were left stewing in their frustration as they hoped it wasn't what they were thinking. Some of them had in secret rejected their fated mate  in the hopes of being a chosen mate to Alpha King Maximus. Noting the guards snapping to attention, all noise and conversation stopped cause they knew the king was on the way. About a minute later the back doors of the ball room came open and Alpha King Maximus began to make his way down the aisle in the middle of the room. Ashe made his way down everyone bowed and bared their necks in submission. Some attendees silently noted that the aura he put off seemed to stronger and more powerful then it had been in the past. They wondered what had changed. When the king stepped up on stage it was noted that he didn't sit on his throne as normal which then caused e ermine to realize there was a  second thrown. Excitement as well as despair began to filter thru the room. Their Alpha King had  finally found his fated mate after so me many years or he had decided to take a chosen mate.

"I would like to welcome everyone to The Mates Ball. I pray to the Moon Goddess  that those who are ready find their fated match tonight speaking of fated mates and the Moon Goddess I have an announcement to make. Normally I make announcements near the end of the ball but this one just couldn't wait any longer. I would have announced to every Alpha individually but if gruel it would best here so it could all be heard at the same time. I am proud and very happy to announce that about three weeks ago the Moon Goddess finally blessed me. I found fated mate."

Applause, cheers, and excitement ran thru  most of the attendees. Except for a larger portion of of the unmated she-wolves. Unless the new Luna Queen was unfit for the role, they knew they were out off chances to be a chosen mate which means some rejected their fated off no reason.

"I truly happy to be the mate to the new Luna Queen. I am very humbled and honored that the Moon Goddess Selene choose me to be this person's mate. I am sure that some of you will be shocked at who she is. I would like to introduce my mate to everyone.  My Mate, my love, could you come up here please."

Everyone turned and watched as the Beta Aaron stepped to the alcove and began to escort a petite but stunningly beautiful woman up to the stage and Alpha Maximus' side. The visiting Alphas could sense something very strong and powerful coming off the new Luna Queen in waves but they couldn't figure out what it was from. Jealousy reared up in many she-wolves hearts as the observed the Alpha King bend down and gently kissed her on the lips.

"I would like to introduce you all to Luna Queen Pandeia, Goddess of light and the daughter of Zeus, King of the Gods, and the Moon Goddess Selene."
