The park had more people than expected today. The usual tree-shaded table spots, the fine green blades of grass all over the floor, the -ugh- people, the dogs and flying frisbees and then my favorite part of the park is the bridge right after the sidewalk shielded with railings where birds usually came and perch, the-"Chemistry was not what I expected at all" Norma groaned leaning back in her seat "we're all gonna fail I'm pretty sure about that" what a nice way to ruin my trance
"Norma could you at least be optimistic" Hugo sipped his smoothie rolling his eyes
"Think about it we messed up big time even after we were told about the test two days ago, why didn't we just study?"
"We actually studied maybe you just didn't" I pushed my glasses up grabbing a chip
"I was busy"
"Busy doing what?"
"That's exactly what I don't know too I was doing nothing" She said and facepalmed
"I studied too the questions were just nothing we saw coming" Paige added with her eyes on her phone
"There's no reason to stress about it there would probably be a makeup test"
"Don't be so sure Hugo we all know how crazy our chemistry teacher can be, let's just keep our fingers crossed though" I said
"You guys are not as worked up as I am are you, do you realize what's happening here?" She paused looking at us who only stared back at her blankly
"We failed the test yeah so?"
"How would you be bothered anyway when you're texting only God knows who" and without notice Norma yanked the phone off of Paige's hands
"Somebody tell me what's wrong with people and yanking my phone off my hands while I'm texting"
"Here we go again, should we leave the table?"
"This could get interesting let's watch" I leaned back on my seat with my pack of chips. They were already yelling and the phone was thrown across the table, sooner or later there'll be some hair pulling and maybe, just maybe reconcilation later
"Hey"
"Oh Liam, hey what's up?"
"I should be asking you guys, what's up with those two? He chuckled
"Phone problems" I shrugged "sit"
"Thanks but can we have a little chat, a minute or two"
"Oh. . . Sure no problem, what's the matter?" I said standing up and hoping Hugo didn't notice how tensed I suddenly got
"Here, read this"
"What's that?" I hesitantly took the book he stretched out to me "wait, isn't this Noah's book of feelings?"
"Yeah" he leaned on the railings we walked to away from all the noise "he let's you read it right?"
I nodded and he helped me flipped the pages to the one that said stuff about trust "oukay, why am I reading the page?" I arched
"Think about it"
My heart went all badum badum and I felt my body heating up even when the air around us was breezy and cold
"I can't possibly think about anything right now, nothing's coming to my head, could you at least give me a clue?" I tucked my hair
"Okay then" he flipped another page "read this one"
"A conversation with his presence"
"Yep, you wanna read it out loud?"
"Not really" I smiled trying to remain calm but then something kept poking my sides
