CHAPTER 4 - "REUNIFICATION"

Eris: OSIRIS! You're alive, my love!!

Structure: I thought you were all dead... I'm so sorry, Eris.

Eris: Hey, hey, what's wrong? Are you okay?

Structure: I'm so sorry I left you all, I couldn't help and I felt so worthless. *sobs* I'm so fucking sorry Eris...

Eris: Honey please, everything is okay, I'm here. We're all here still. Don't cry my love, I'm here, I'm here... *sniff*

The Structure pulls her closer and hugs her very tightly. Eris can see the pain he felt in his eyes when he lost her, and it's strong. Huge chunks of cosmic tears come out of both of their eyes. They have never felt pain like this before, losing their closest friend and soulmate.

Structure: You have no idea how happy I am to see all of you alive... I-I'm... So happy...

Eris: I feel the same way, my love. Life without you was something awful, we were all worried you weren't ever going to come back...

Membrane: It's true, and... I'm glad to see you again, Structure. Life really wasn't the same without your leadership. We all mourned your passing, and we didn't know what to do without you.

Invincible: I'm glad to be working with you again, Structure, and I'm glad you're alive and well.

Derelict: The rest of us wanted to give you a gift just in case you ever returned. Here.

Structure: A gift? And thank you all, you all mean everything to me, especially you Eris.

Eris: Thank you honey... *blushes*

The Structure opens the gift and reveals the item contained inside it.

Structure: Our banner? How did you manage to get this?

Eris: I found it next to the monolith, hidden away. Maybe it was a sign that you would return?

Structure: Possibly. It's half burnt, I'll make this my mantle as a sign of what we once were.

Membrane: Once were? Are we becoming something new?
Structure: That's what I wish to talk to everyone about in a bit. For now, let me have a moment with my wife, please.

Membrane: Of course, Structure, we'll be back at base. See you two there soon.

The Structure puts his hands onto Eris' hands.

Eris: Hey, what's this about?

Structure: We never got some alone time together, and I think now is that time.

Eris: Come to think of it, you're right. This is nice.

Structure: Listen, when I lost control all that time ago, I wanted to let you know that wasn't with bad intentions. I needed to do all I could to save us from salvation, and I wasn't going to let it come back here and destroy everything.

Eris: Oh, Osiris, you don't need to apologize to me for something I already knew. It took me a little while to figure that out, but I have a question.

Structure: Ask away, my love.

Eris: Where were you? I know you weren't alive, but you said that you still felt the pain. Were you somewhere?
Structure: I was, and I met an entity that knew who I was. The place I was in is called the "In-Between".

Eris: The In-Between? Your consciousness went there?

Structure: Yeah, and everything felt...strange there. Like if my skin wasn't my own, or if I wasn't supposed to be there, which I wasn't.

Eris: I'm so sorry my love, I wish I could've helped you.

Structure: Eris, you've done a lot for me, the least you deserve is a break. You've been working your ass off this whole time. Chill, and rest with me. We need this.
