I was confused... did I... like Murdoc?

No, no, that can't be correct, we literally only had one friendly interaction, no one falls that fast! Snap out of it!

I mean, considering I like boys too and all the girls I know are either taken or in a sibling-zone, it must've been the fact he's the only boy I know, well, him and Russel

It's like since I like boys my mind tells me I have to like every boy. That's my conclusion, I don't like Murdoc, I just like every boy I know because my father left me at 11 and now I'm subconsciously looking for a replacement. That's it! I don't like Murdoc, I just need a father figure!

After the conclusion I head to school, ready to hang out with Murdoc after school, trying to become Ace's cool uncle, or something. I arrive and pack out all my stuff, taking my math book and notebook, ready to head to homeroom. Just as I slam my locker shut, Murdoc is on the other side, he seems to be in a bad mood

"Hey... uh, everything alright, Mudz?"

"Don't 'Mudz' me, dullard"

"What's wrong? Did I do something?"

He just walks away, angrily, to homeroom. I stand there, weirded out, I didn't know what to do, so I just stood, until Russel came up behind me.

"Ayo Pot" he greets, he hates my first name for some reason "Whaddup?"

"I think... Not important, what's our first class?" I say "Oh, math, right"

I head to homeroom after me and Russel parted ways, I take my seat in the front and stare out the window for a while before I see Murdoc also come in, he looks angry, and I get worried. The last time he was that angry, he would be violent, hit everyone that even looked at him wrong.

I decided I'd talk to him after school, what else could I do? The bell rings, it's math, I suffer through the teacher constantly picking me, since I was better than the majority, yay me. Afterwards, religion comes around, I was excited, Murdoc might be back to normal as he realises that he could spew satanic propaganda to the teacher. I hate religious class, but Murdoc makes it funny.

"Good morning, let's start the day with a prayer" the teacher starts

"HAIL SATAN" Murdoc yells, like always, the teacher isn't even phased at this point, which wasn't surprising, he had been going here for four years now

I stand up and put my hands together like everyone else, but I don't pray, why would I? I don't believe in god, but I can't say that, or else she'll fail me, let me at least have this much. I never had the courage to be as confident as Murdoc, I was always kinda jealous of his confidence to rebel, but I knew I could never say that as the token Golden Child.

Murdoc keeps sat in protest, and as the prayer was over, everyone sat down. After class, it was one more class until lunch, and that class was Spanish.

After the bell rings, Ms Rodriguez walks in. This time, Murdoc doesn't seem to feel like taunting her, so he just stays quiet, until he is called.

"Murdoc, I haven't heard you speak today, would you like to solve the problem?" she asks

Murdoc scoffs, looks around a bit, then speaks

"Si el día antes de ayer es un día después del Martes, eso debe significar que hoy es Viernes" he says ("If the day before yesterday was a day after Tuesday, that must mean today is Friday")

"¡Muy bueno!" the teacher says

Hearing Murdoc's spanish accent, I don't know how to feel, his accent is very good, although it was inexplicable, rather. Despite a few kinks here and there, it is pleasant to listen to, even if for a short while...

Lunch came around, Murdoc either sat alone or didn't even attend. This time he did, and he sat all alone. I decide to sit with him.

"Where are you goin' mate?" Paula barks

I hint to Murdoc's table with my head subtly

"Wha- The Niccals kid?!" she whisper screams, I nod "D'you have a death with or somffin'?"

I stand up with my unopened lunchbox in hand and walk over to Murdoc's table

"Oi, what the hell do you want?" he yells

"Thought you'd like this" I say as I sit down, take a candy bar from my lunchbox and throw it towards him

"Sweet, thanks" he says back "Now sod off"

"No" I sternly say

"What?"

"I'm staying, you said we were friends, right?" I ask, snarkily

"...Yeah, yeah, whatever, just stay quiet and motionless and you can stay"

"Murdoc!" I blurt out "What is your problem with me?"

"..." Murdoc stays silent for a bit "Just sod off, alright?"

"..." I shoot him an insulted look

"What? You think being all snarky will get ya anywhere?" He growls "Get bent and shagged"

"Murdo-"

"Get. Bent." He says, threateningly, before flipping me off and going away

"...I thought we were friends"
