Chapter 2 - Blue Everywhere

[If you've noticed some parallels with the old version of this story up until now, that's on purpose. I liked the old story's setup for the most part so I'm modifying pieces of that into this story.]

Unknown location, about 13:00

Monarch looks back at Robin as she cranes her neck to look at him.

She says, "Where do you think we are?"

Monarch simply shrugs and maintains steady flight.

<<AWACS "Galaxy">> "Galaxy to all units. Everyone okay?"

<<Hitman 1 WSO "President">> "Hitman 1, still flyin'."

<<Gunsel 1>> "Yep. Gunsel 1 here, along with Gunsel 4."

<<Hitman 3 "Comic">> "Hitman 3. Galaxy, I think I see you. Moving to link up."

<<Kelleher>> "Ronin's here too. We're down below you, boss."

<<AWACS "Galaxy">> "Copy that."

<<Hitman 2 "Diplomat">> "Hitman 2, alive and kicking."

<<Gunsel 3>> "Gunsel 3, calling in."

<<Gunsel 2>> "Gunsel 2 here. We missing anyone?"

<<AWACS "Galaxy">> "Now that you're here, we aren't. Move in with my vector. Let's see if we can find land."

Sicario links up with Galaxy, and they fly for about 20 minutes.

<<AWACS "Galaxy">> "Hey, I'm getting a signal from bearing 295. It's encrypted, but it's either old or low quality. Should only take me a second to break it."

<<AWACS "Galaxy">> "And there it goes. Let's see what's up."

<<AWACS "Galaxy">> "Siren activity? Never heard that before."

<<Hitman 3 "Comic">> "To hell with it. It's worth checking out."

<<AWACS "Galaxy">> "All aircraft, turn to bearing 295. Let's go see what they're up to."

Sicario continues to fly for about 10 minutes. Then, a cloud moves, and a naval base comes into view from far away.

<<AWACS "Galaxy">> "Activity on another frequency. Patching us in."

<<???>> "I repeat, identify yourselves at once or we will open fire!"

<<AWACS "Galaxy">> "Woah, woah. Easy."

<<???>> "You are violating Azur Lane airspace! Identify yourselves!"

<<AWACS "Galaxy">> "We're just lost, cool your head."

<<Azur Lane ATC>> "I will not repeat myself!"

<<AWACS "Galaxy">> "Oh, alright. We're the Sicario Mercenary Corps."

<<Azur Lane ATC>> "Mercenaries?"

<<AWACS "Galaxy">> "I'm their boss. Introduce yourselves, ladies and gentlemen."

<<Hitman 1 WSO "President">> "Hitman 1, Monarch and President."

<<Hitman 2 "Diplomat">> "Hitman 2, Diplomat, at your service."

<<Hitman 3 "Comic">> "Hitman 3, callsign Comic."

Gunsel and Ronin introduce themselves as well.

<<Azur Lane ATC>> "And you work for who?"

<<AWACS "Galaxy">> "We're under contract with Magadan right now. We experienced issues onsite and wound up here."

<<Azur ATC>> "Never heard of Magadan. Are they allied with the Sirens?"

<<AWACS "Galaxy">> "Sirens? Never heard of 'em."

<<Azur Lane ATC>> "Hmph. Well, here isn't your place to be."

<<AWACS "Galaxy">> "We just need fuel. We can pay."

<<Azur Lane ATC>> "Stand by."

A minute or two passes.

<<Azur Lane ATC>> "Sicario, was it? You're cleared to land. Pull into Hangar Foxtrot and wait for a platoon of marines for escort. The commander would like to speak with you."

<<AWACS "Galaxy">> "Copy that. Sicario, you heard him. Get to it."
