I stumbled back at the impact as they lost their balance and fell onto me, sending me backwards, hitting the ground with a loud thump. I looked up to the man on top of me and my eyes met a familiar pair of green ones.

"You gotta start looking where you're going," Xavier responded with a smirk, his hands on either side of my head, our faces mere inches apart. I could feel his warm breath dancing upon my skin, making my cheeks flush.

"Well judging by whose on top of who, maybe this was your fault." I retorted back with a scoff. Unbeknownst to me a certain shade or crimson raised to his cheeks as I spoke.

"Fair enough," he spoke as he removed himself from on top of me.

My body almost ached at the sudden absence of his body heat.

He outstretched his hand towards me offering to help me up. I propped myself onto my elbows and stared at his hand for a moment. My eyes met his and my heart rate increased slightly, instead of reaching for his hand I grabbed above and grasped his forearm, my hand merely touching the sleeve of his jacket, he did the same and helped pull me up. Once on my feet I pulled away quickly feeling a twisting sensation in my stomach as my emotions heightened and a low humming of electricity brewing beneath the surface of my skin.

"Where were you heading in such a rush?" Xavier asked attempting to cut the tension.

"I wasn't really in a rush I just got distracted by a text," I said with a slight smile.

"Oh," he said a little defeated. "Whose the lucky guy," he said, "or girl." He added, his tone bordering jealous.

His jealous tone made the corner of my lip slightly raise, giving me a new found confidence. "Why, jealous?" I said slightly inching forward.

Xavier scoffed and rolled his eyes. I turned around and bent over to pick up my phone and felt his eyes rake over me. I had my phone in hand and turned to face him, "It's just Enid," I said gesturing to the text on screen.

He tried to hide the relief that swarmed his face, but I saw it nonetheless.

"I was just going to the dining hall to pick up some lunch for her and I." I explained.

He nodded, "and you just decided to bump into me along the way," he said with a knowing smirk.

"I thought we'd already settled that this time was your fault?" I said taking one step closer confidently, our faces so close I could once again feel his breath.

"Maybe I just wanted an excuse to be on top of you," he said leaning forwards whispering in my ear.

My eyes widened and I felt a warmth grow between my legs as a small gasp escaped my slightly parted lips at how quickly the conversation escalated. He stood back up straight with the cockiest smirk and walked away leaving me standing there aghast.

I was left standing alone, I felt so exposed. Had that just happened? Did anyone see? I quickly scanned the quad for any peering eyes and saw a pair of siren eyes glaring at me. If I hadn't known any better I would say she was trying to light me ablaze with nothing more than her glare. I recognized her, Enid said her name was Bianca, and apparently Xavier's ex. Her jealousy was radiating off her as I saw her storm off down the same hallway as Xavier. I followed her slightly just to the hallway entry, Xavier was posting a flyer to the bulletin about drawing lessons.

I couldn't hear their conversation from here but Bianca was obviously furious. I wanted to intervene, but decided against it, Xavier can handle himself, he doesn't need me to come to his defense.

...

I entered the room, two bags of food in hand.

"Thank god, you were gone for literally forever, what took you so long?" she asked rushing over grabbing her bag of food as I outstretched it.

"Sorry, I ran into someone," I said, "literally." finishing my sentence with a scoff, meeting Enid on the floor to eat.

I'm sure Enid saw the blush rise to my cheeks and that insinuated her next line of questioning.

"Could it be possible you ran into a certain tall long haired tortured artist?" Enid questioned with a knowing look raising her eyebrows.

I rolled my eyes and scoffed, "As if."

"Bianca will not be happy," she said with wide eyes, "she's definitely still pining for him."

"Oh, trust me she was not happy." I replied.

"Anything blog worthy?" Enid asked as she threw a french fry in her mouth.

"Definitely not." I replied.

Enid and I sat on the floor making small chit-chat and eating our late lunch. Once we finished eating we resumed to the task of making her window...colorful. She was confident her roommate would love it as much as she did, but for some reason, I had a feeling they wouldn't.

...

"It's so.." I started but struggled to find the words to describe it as Enid and I stared at the completed window in front of us.

"Perfect!"

"Vivid."

Enid and I said at the same time finishing my sentence.

"My roomie is going to absolutely love it!" Enid said practically jumping up and down at the proudness of her work.

"Yeah, let's hope so," I said in a low voice. Who knows maybe Enid will get a roommate just as...energetic as herself. "What's your roommates name anyway?" I asked curiously.

"Wednesday," she said, "It's a little strange I know, and I've heard some crazy rumors, but i'm sure they're not true," she said almost trying to convince herself.

"Interesting name, I'm sure you guys will get along great," I said trying to be reassuring.

"Thank you and thanks for all the help!" she said turning to me, "I couldn't have done it without you!"

"Yeah, no problem," I said, "I actually didn't have a horrible time too you know."

Enid practically squealed at the response, "I had a great time too," she said nudging my shoulder with a knowing smile, "bestie."

I rolled my eyes, but a slight smile crept on my lips.

"Now, I'd love to hang the rest of the day, but I've gotta run. Lot's of prep work to do for the new roomie!" she said gathering up some items and placing them in her bag.

"Yeah, I bet," I said with a slight laugh, "I'll see myself out," I said.

"Thanks again for all your help," she said with a smile as I closed her door.
