Mornings are the worst, I thought to myself as I got put on my uniform and gloves for my first day of classes. Today I had History of Lycanthropy, Astronomy and Botany.

I decided to start the day with breakfast so I headed downstairs. As I was leaving my dorms tower across the hall I saw a familiar brunette leaving his dorm tower as well and it seems he noticed me too as he started approaching and I turned to start walking.

"Dahlia" he said with a kind smile catching my attention forcing me to turn around.

"Hey, Xavier," I said with an acknowledging nod.

"On the way to breakfast?" he said, I nodded. "Perfect me too I'lll walk you there."

"Thanks," I said looking up at him with a slight smile.

The walk to the dining hall was short and quiet, with me giving one word responses to his various questions.

"Why don't you sit with me and we can eat together, you can show me your schedule, maybe we'll have a class together."

I thought about it for a moment, I honestly should say no, i'm not supposed to get close to people emotionally or physically but somehow the word that came out of my mouth was "sure."

I followed him to a table in the quad and sat down across from him.

"You don't really say much do you?" he inquired innocently taking a bite of his breakfast sandwich.

"I normally try to keep my distance from other people." I said plainly eyeing the red apple I had grabbed for breakfast in my had.

"Why?"

"Just so I don't hurt anyone," I said with my attention now on my hands.

"But I heard you were a seer, how would that hurt anyone?" He inquired.

"Well I do have visions but also something more, i'm not a seer, i'm not quite sure what I am," I said looking up at him.

"What do you mean something more?" he said with a furrowed brow.

"We just met yesterday and you want me to spill all my secrets, you sound like Enid." I said with a faint laugh.

"I guess I'll just have to wait to find out all the secrets from the mysterious new girl dahlia whitmore." he said in a joking tone with a smirk.

"Wait, what do you mean?" I asked confused.

"Oh, Enid made a blog post about you," he said reaching into his pocket and handing me his phone.

"Oh, Enid made a blog post about you," he said reaching into his pocket and handing me his phone

My face contorted into one of shock and disappointment as I handed Xavier back his phone.

"What? It's not bad, she even called you eye-catching." he said with wide eyes trying to help.

"I just wanted to keep a low profile."

"Yeah, you can't really do that once you've gotten on Enid's radar," He said apologetically "she really does mean well."

"Oh i'm sure, when I met her yesterday she seemed very.... friendly" Xavier laughed at my response.

"Yeah she comes on a little strong, so what classes do u have today?" he asked desperately trying to change the subject.

I reached in my bag and handed him my schedule.

"We have Botany, and Ancient Runes together," I would say I could be of help in those classes but somehow i'm already almost failing them," he said with a smirk.

I gave a slight laugh then the bell rang and we grabbed our bags.

"I'll see you in botany," he said walking towards his class, I waved in response.

While walking to Astronomy all I could do was think over what had just happened, did I become possessed, mind controlled? All plausible theories, theres no other explanation to why I sat with Xavier and engaged, I'm supposed to be keeping my distance. I'm supposed to be alone, then no one can get hurt.

Get it together Whitmore.

...

Astronomy was a bore, I've memorized and studied nearly every constellation, I thought I would learn something new, but instead, it was a drag. I pulled out my schedule and saw botany was next, god i'll have to see Xavier again

I walked slowly dreading having to see him because of my complete lack of control around him when it comes to keeping my distance, what am I a child, I can keep away from an attractive man. Did I just say attractive? Oh god.

Thankfully my train of thought was able to crash and burn by the interruption of a certain wolf.

"So, I saw you and Xavier at breakfast, how juicy? and gossip here I should be looking for?" She said raising her eyebrows.

God I was hoping this conversation would be a distraction.

"No Enid, no story, no gossip, no need to write about me again." I said flatly quickening my pace.

"Oh you're upset? Is it because I wrote about you I'm sorry, I write about everyone to be fair and I thought what I wrote was nice, but I didn't mean to pry yesterday and invade your privacy," she rambled on "let me make it up to you." she said with big puppy eyes.

I stopped and looked her dead in the eyes "No."

"Please?!" she said again more forcefully.

"No."

"Please, please, please, please, pleaseeee," she said clasping her hands together in a begging manner jumping up and down.

"I said, No, shall I repeat myself, No."

"I'm not going to stop asking till you say yes."

I rolled my eyes, "Fine, only to stop your incessant begging."

"Yay, meet me in my room, the attic of Ophelia Hall, at 6 p.m."

Before I could protest she skipped away, then the bell rang.

Shit. i'm late.

I rushed through the halls and made it to the conservatory.

"Ah, Miss. Whitmore, how kind of you to join us," she said making all eyes turn to me, "I'll give you a pass this once as it's your first day, but don't be late again. Now take a seat, theres an open one next to Mr. Thorpe." she gestured.

Of course there is.

I made my way to the seat and immediately started focusing on the lesson.

"Nice to see you too," Xavier said sarcastically.

I didn't even look his way, he scoffed and looked back towards the teacher. I almost felt bad for ignoring him, why do I feel like this?

The rest of the day flew by and next thing I know it's 5:45 p.m., so I got up from my desk and changed my clothes I put on a pair of black Dickes pants, a chunky sweater and my gloves then touched up my make up, headed to Enid's.

Almost as soon as I knocked on her door she opened it.

"Are you ready for the best apology ever?" she said excitedly.

Oh god what does she have planned.
