Annabelle was sat quiet in a booth, sipping her coffee, while reading an enjoyable book, The Deal by Elle Kennedy. Romantic books, a guilty pleasure of hers. She'll never believe in it but she loves to read about it.

Just then her reading was interrupted by a group of annoying, childish boys walking in. As soon as they saw her, they approached her.

"Hey, boys, check it out." "Who's that?" "Bro..." "Come on."

"What's a Nevermore freak doing out in the wild?"

"This is our booth."

"Why are you dressed like religious fanatics?" she asked, unamused by the attempt at a threat.

"We're pilgrims."

"Sure if thats what you call pilgrims" she looked them up and down and rolled her eyes.

"We work at Pilgrim World"

"It takes a special kind of stupid to devote an entire theme park to zealots responsible for mass genocide"

"My dad owns Pilgrim World"

"Please do send him my sweet sympathy"

"Who you calling stupid?"

"If the buckled shoe fits." she shrugged, looking back at her book.

Tyler overhears the conversation and steps in, trying to get the guys to leave. "Guys, back off"

"Stay out of this, Galpin."

"Yes, stay out of this." she said to him.

"So tell me, freak... you ever been with a normie?"

She does her signature head tilt with a smirk. "I've never found one that could handle me."

They have a stare off. Of course Annabelle was going to win, these unintelligent boys stood no match to her. "Boo!"

He slightly jumped back "Hey!"

Before anything could happen, the sheriff walks in, ceasing a fight Annabelle really wanted to happen.

"Dad" Tyler quickly walks over to him, reassuring him that everything was fine.

"Tyler, the hell's going on in here?"

"They were harassing a customer, and she was putting them in their place"

Annabelle quickly noticed that Mrs. Weems had found her hiding place and was extremely disappointed and annoyed with her.

"Apologies, Sheriff. This one slipped away from me." she grabbed Annabelle by the arm.

"Come on, Miss Addams, time to go."

"Wait a minute, hang on. You're an Addams? Don't tell me Gomez Addams is your father?" she nodded with a confusing and intrigued look on her face.

"That man belongs behind bars for murder. Guessin' the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I'm gonna keep my eye on you." she frowned, confused about what he was talking about. They hurriedly went back to the car and drove back to Nevermore.

"Your first day and you're already on Sheriff Galpin's radar."

"Wish I could say I was surprised."

"What did he mean about my father?"

"I have no idea, but a word of advice. Stop making enemies and start making a few friends. You're going to need them." Weems slowed down the car to get a better look at the accident they were approaching.

"Looks like an accident. I hope the driver's okay."

"He's dead. Broke his neck."

"How can you tell from this angle?" She couldn't. She knew this because she had bumped into the now dead guy in the car on the way to Weathervane. It caused her to have a vision about the gory scene.
