"so a week has gone by since this school year started," mrs. walsh said. "i think it's time we took pictures for our yearbook. i want you to find a person on campus, and ask to take a picture of them."

she caught my attention. i sat up and leaned forward, waiting for more.

"it could be a friend, or a total stranger as long as they agree. you can take it of just them or the both of you. and at the end of the school year, you take that same picture in that same location, same pose and everything. this will be a 'let's see how much you've grown' kind of assignment. it'll be shown on your face... and picture!"

niall raised his hand. "will this be our final grade?" he asked.

mrs. walsh nodded. "if you don't have a picture, you get a zero. it's as simple as that," she explained. "have fun, and don't take this too seriously! have a good day, you are dismissed."

we all got out of our seats and packed our things. i put my notebook away and swung it over my shoulder.

"want to take one together?" niall asked, a bright smile in his face.

i bit my lip, "well we can for your picture." we walked down the hall till we reached my locker.

"what about yours?" niall asked, leaning against the one next to me.

it took a while before i got it open, being new and all. "i have someone else in mind. besides, we can't have the same picture for both of our assignments."

"true... but who do you have in mind?" he asked, as i stuffed my notebook into the tiny space.

"uh, i'm not sure yet," i lied. i shut my locker door and we walked out of school.
