Chapter Five: Therefore I am
"THEY'VE BEEN GONE for a while now, maybe something happened?"
T-dog, Daryl and Rick decided to go back to the prisoners a while ago in exchange for the food we had gotten. It was a good enough deal but now they've been gone for over and hour everyone's starting to worry.
Shit—I'm starting to worry and I don't even know these people.
"They'll be back soon. Try not to worry." I told Lori giving her a tight lipped smile.
She smiled back and walked towards her cell, nursing her bump in the process. That poor woman had been through enough, she didn't need to worry about all this. Soft chatter came from few, but that stopped quickly.
Loud footsteps echoed and bounced within the small walls. It had to be them. All of us stood up waiting to hear what happened and what's going on.
"Rick calm down man! You ain't thinking straight." I heard T-dog yell.
Instantly, I was on high alert and dreaded coming face to face with Rick. I'm the only person here he doesn't trust. He could only be marching so angrily towards me.
All three emerged.
Bloodied.
Sweating.
And out of breath.
But the other prisoners where not behind them.
'He killed them.' My heart picked up and I took steps back. 'You're next.'
Suddenly, Rick launched forward, nostrils flared and a devilish look in his eyes.
"DID YOU DO THAT?!" He yelled.
I was now pinned against the prison wall, his hands held my throat roughly as he aimed his revolver at my head. I tilted my head up in attempt to alleviate some pressure—but that only made him squeeze tighter. I gasped and shakily gripped his wrist with both of my hands.
"Rick!" Daryl called out to him.
There was no speaking to the man like this, he wanted blood. My blood.
