[Chapter 8: Insanity Strikes Again]

Isang panibagong araw na naman ang dumating, walang ibang ginagawa ang mga tao sa kampo kung hindi ang mag-ayos at maglagay ng mas malakas na pangdepensa laban sa mga halimaw.

Ang mga kalalakihan ay gumagawa ng matataas na bakod habang ang mga kababaihan naman ay nag aayos ng mga halaman, pagkain, at iba pa.

Nakatayo si Ivette sa harap ng bahay ni Mr. Aniston, pinapanood niya ang mga tao na ginagawa ang kanilang trabaho.

Bumukas ang pintuan at lumabas ang matanda, tumabi ito sa kaniya saka tinapik ang kaniyang balikat.

Ngumiti ito sa kaniya, kaya naman ngumiti siya rito pabalik.

"Hello!" kaway ni Lionel nang makadaan siya kina Mr. Aniston at Ivette. Kumaway ang dalawa sa kaniya pabalik.

Katulong si Lionel sa pagbubuhat ng mga kahoy na pinanggagawang bakuran. Habang si Carson naman ay kasama ni Pietro na nanghuhuli ng hayop sa kakahuyan. Si Rufus naman ay nagsisibak ng kahoy.

Ingay mula sa mga ibon ang gumising kay Lily. Unti-unti siyang dumilat at napahikab.

She turned her body to her left side.

"Oh my god!" Gulat niyang tugon nang makita si Ember sa tabi niya. Nakatingin lang ito sa kaniya.

"Saan ka ba nanggaling? Hanap ako nang hanap sayo kahapon pa." Napa upo na si Lily. Ember keeps staring at her.

"Huy!" pagbulabog nito sa kasama.

She turns her back on Lily and then puts herself to sleep. Lumabas na lang ng tent si Lily, doon na siya nag stretching. Her bones cracking can be heard.

Regine suddenly walks in front of her. Medyo malayo na ang dalaga nang tawagin niya ito.

"Regine!" agad itong lumingon sa kaniya. she's emotionless, and Lily doesn't know why.

"Kailan pa kayo nakabalik?" tanong niya rito. "Kagabi lang." tipid nitong sagot. Tatalikod na sana si Regine nang biglang nagtanong muli si Lily.

"Where's Kaye?" Regine stopped for a moment. "She's dead." Pabulong nitong sagot, pero sapat para marinig ni Lily. She doesn't know what to react, but Regine left Lily with her jaw dropped.

On the other side, there's Pietro and Carson.

Mr. Aniston lets Pietro borrow his sniper rifle for better hunting, but the problem is, neither of the two knows how to use it.

"Lionel and Lily are the gun experts in the group, we should've bring them with us." Carson said, but Pietro was determined to learn how to use it on his own.

He was aiming for a lost hen, he was about to click the trigger when he saw a nest with eggs.

"Carson, Mr. Aniston's gonna love this." He stands up and runs towards the nest. Because of his actions, he scares the hen, it ran away but Carson chases it.

Pietro's attention is on the eggs. It was a jackpot, a blessing for them. Now they have a hen and eggs, the eggs will be hatched soon and that means more chickens.

He turns around to look for Carson, he's still chasing the hen. Pietro puts the nest down and helps him to catch the running hen.

They're running around in a circles. From out of nowhere, someone threw a piece of stone, hitting the chicken's leg. It stops running, giving Pietro the chance to pick it up.

They looked at the direction where the stone came from, it was Brandon.

"Hey, playing around?" Brandon said then chuckles. The two smiled, they're catching their breathe. Chasing the hen costs them lots of energy.
