I open my eyes to find myself in a dimly lit room; despite the fact that it is already daytime, no one has opened the heavy drapes to let the sunlight in. The ache in my head ebbs and flows like a frigid tide, yet it is always present. I realise at once why they call it a hangover since it feels like the darkest of clouds has descended on my head and have no intention of lifting anytime soon. My eyes open and close a few times, and when I shift in bed, my entire body groans in soreness. I pull myself up and sit up on the bed. I sigh, massaging my forehead, and the silk duvet that has been covering my body slides off. That's when I notice I'm naked! What! Why in the world am I naked! Oh, my goddess in heaven! What happened last night! How did I end up in this room! That too while naked! As dread overcomes me, I scream in my head. As waves of nausea add to my misery, I instantly wrap myself in the duvet. My phone starts pinging with message after message, and I just want it to shut up! My brain is being devoured by the din! My brain feels as if it is about to swell beyond the limits of my skull, and the dehydration I am feeling is now far too evident to ignore.
I drag my body down and attempt to get out of bed. But before I can get out of bed, the doors to the room I am in burst open, and a panicked Delila rushes in. Her hair is dishevelled, her eyes are crimson, and the glamour girl from the night before had vanished, leaving just a pink lattice over the white.
"Goddess! Where were you gone last night?" Delila yells as she rushes up to me, and I grimace as I feel bile crawl up my throat. Delila's eyes widen as I slap my palm over my mouth, trying not to vomit. Delila gestures to the door on the other side of the room without a question, and I hurry there with the blanket wrapped around me.
I grumble and walk out of the restroom after emptying the content of my stomach. My cracking headache is now more noticeable than the coating of dry saliva that coats my split lips. When I get up, the room rocks, almost throwing me off balance, and I reach for the wall. My fingers slide down the high gloss paint with a loud clatter, and I slump onto the carpet. Delila's eyes widen and she dashes to aid me. The room swirls before returning to normal, and Delila grabs my shoulder and pulls me to my feet. I draw myself to a stand, clutching the bedstead closely to my body. I do not whatsoever wish to flash Delila. From my crackling headache, cracked lips, dehydration and the hangover all together, I could tell I had quite a lot of fun last night. And, judging by my naked body, I think I might have had a little too much fun at that. But somehow the memories of 'fun' weren't there in my memory. Delila assists me in walking to and sitting down on the bed.
"Are you all right?" Delila inquires, her voice filled with concern, and I shake my head.
"I'm never going to drink again!" I groan, and Delila chuckles.
"You had a terrific time last night."
"What do you think?" With a sigh, I roll onto my back and lie down on the bed. When I shift my leg to get a bit more comfortable, the ache between my legs runs throughout my body, making me grimace. When I open my eyes, I find Delila staring at me with wide eyes. I look down to see what is she staring at. And I find my naked body and the valley of my breasts peeking out from under the blanket. I watch, as with her nose in the air, Delila smells the room and she looks as if she has cracked the case.
"You reek, Nesta!" I roll my eyes and close my eyes when she says this.
"Tell me something I'm not aware of." Delila swallows as I murmur with my eyes closed.
"You reek of booze and-" I frown as she pauses for a moment. I open my eyes. "-as well as of sex." The moment those words come out of her mouth, I sprout out of the bed. As fuzzy memories of the previous night steadily bombard my memory, I can feel horror filling me up. My entire body shudders as my brain takes the initiative to remind me of those scorching touches; I can feel the skin of my naked body prickling simply recalling those sizzling touches. The sensation of those touches and kisses feels so evident that my body jolts awake from slumber once again and I clamp my palm over my mouth. I have done it! I know why my entire body aches so much!
"Fuck!" I grunt and Delila clamps her palm over her mouth.
"Beta Hanniel is going to fucking kill me!" Delila exclaims in horror, and I raise my gaze to meet hers. She begins to pace around the room.
"But before that, your mother will fry me in oil and then skin me alive and make bar-be-que out of my fresh meat! Maybe she will even feed some to me! And I don't even want to think about what Luna Croía and Alpha Ciro would do to me if they find out I dragged you to this party and let you sleep with a random male from where ever the hell he came from!" Delila comes to a halt, her broad eyes filled with terror, and I swallow, rubbing my brow.
"You are right, they sure will do everything you just mentioned," I mumble and Delila shivers in dread.
"Your truth is not helping in this situation! Who the hell asked you to get laid?" I chuckle as she shouts and throws her hands in the air.
"You did, you dumb wolf!"
"Well, who asked you to take my words seriously! Please, Goddess, save me! Those wolves will murder me when they find out the truth!" Delila whimpers, shutting her eyes and pleading with the Goddess.
"When people find out the truth, you say," I speculate, as she opens her eyes to look at me.
"What exactly are you thinking?"
"What if they don't find out what really happened?" Delila frowns as I inquire with a wicked smile.
"They will know what happened."
"Who will inform them? I'm sure I won't." Delila nods slowly as I shrug.
"You are right! Except for us, no one knows what happened here! So, if we don't tell them, they will never know!" Delila rushes over to me, clapping her hand.
"Getting laid definitely activated the nasty half of your brain!" I groan as Delila grins and pocks my head with her finger. "But you stink of sex, so we need to get rid of that!" Delila says as she stands up and I nod.
