I can't write one song that's not about you
"You want a drink?" Tommy asks.
"I'm sober." I say.
Can't drink without thinkin' about you
"Really? How long?" Tommy asks.
"2 months." I say.
"Congratulations, I'm proud of you." Tommy says.
Tommy hugs me and I smile.
I see Hailee talking to Max and my smile disappears.
"You never tell me what you want. It's like you want me to read your mind." Hailee says.
Is it too late to tell you that Everything means nothing if I can't have you?
"I'm gonna go, I'm pretty tired." I say.
"Okay, call me tomorrow." Tommy says.
I nod and leave.
30 minutes later...
I open the door and Charlie runs towards me. I smile and pat his head.
Hailee and I adopted Charlie when he was a kitten. When we broke up, she wanted him but let me have him because "I needed him more than her." Whatever that means...
I fill to bowl with food and sit on the couch.
I took Charlie and moved back to Fresno. I originally stayed in a hotel for 2 weeks because I figured Hailee and I would get back together. Eventually I just gave up and bought my first house.
I'm in Toronto and I got this view But I might as well be in a hotel room, yeah It doesn't matter 'cause I'm so consumed
I sigh and take my phone out of my pocket.
