Chapter 34

Derek Shepherd

I wake up with Meredith asleep cuddled into my side. I check the time and it is only ten at night. I slowly slip out of her grasp and I head downstairs. "Hi Derek" Ellis smiles at me.

"Hey" I yawn.

"So you got a tattoo?" she says.

"Yeah it's Meredith's initials in a heart and then her birthday in roman numerals" I say grabbing a glass from the cupboard.

"That's adorable Derek she'll love it" she smiles.

"I hope" I chuckle softly filling up the glass with water.

"Hm" I hear a small noise.

"Meredith?" I ask.

"Why did you leave me?" she pouts and walking over to me as I take a drink of my water.

"Sorry baby I was thirsty" I say softly.

"Fine" she yawns wrapping her arms around me and laying her head on my back.

"Tired?" I ask.

"Yeah" she mumbles.

"Let's go back to bed now" I say and I pick her up and she smiles cuddling into my neck.

I lay her down in bed and get comfortable next her. I lay down next to her and pull her close to me with my arms draped across her body. I kiss her cheek softly and I soon fall asleep once again.

I wake up and realize Meredith isn't in bed with me. I guess this is how she feels when I leave her alone in bed. Cold and lonely is how to describe it, not very fun.

I sigh and get up out of bed. I walk downstairs and she is talking to her mom. She is already all dressed and ready for the day. I was about to go down by her but instead I go back upstairs to the bathroom. I lock the door and take off my shirt.

I take care of my tattoo and I throw my shirt back on. I walk back down the stairs and Meredith is still there talking to her mother. I go over to her and wrap my arms around her and I snuggle my head into her neck.

"Good morning baby" she says softly.

"Morning" I say kissing her cheek making her giggle softly.

"Tired still?" she asks.

"Yeah and you left me all alone in your bed" I mumble wrapping my arms around her tighter.

"Hm I'm sorry, were you lonely?" she asks.

"Yeah and cold" I say.

She turns around and hugs me. I kiss the top of her head and smile down at her. "Are you warmer now?" she asks.

"Yes you make me warm" I say rubbing her back.

My phone starts to ring and I groan but answer it. "Dewek?"

"Amelia what are you doing with moms phone?" I chuckle.

"I miss you and mommy says i call you"

"I'm at Meredith's house right now Amy" I say.

"But come home" I hear her pouting.

"I'm hanging out with Meredith at her house" I say again.

"No come home bing Mer wif you"

"Meredith do you want to go home with me to hang out with Amelia?" I ask.

"Sure" she smiles.

"Okay Amy we will be home soon" I chuckle.

"Okay! bye bye Dewek!"

"Bye bye Amy" I chuckle and hang up the phone.

"Get dressed and we will eat then go to your house" Meredith says.

I nod and go to get dressed.
