Corbin closed the glove compartment with a sigh. It was after hours at school and he had to turn in a late assignment. His teacher had been lenient, giving him until the end of the day to turn it in. So here he was. A far cry from his usual routine of shooting baskets with his friends in hope of not making his C average drop lower.
"He better be here." Corbin closed the car door.
His essay was safely protected by the red folder he bought on the way there. He figured Mr. Tims would accept it and he could leave the school with less worry than when he arrived.
He had the afternoon planned.
Pick up his boyfriend and go to their usual burger joint then call up a couple of his friends to meet up to play games on the PS5.
This assignment had been a major pain in the ass so an afternoon of doing what he wanted was needed.
The school door closed with a bang behind him. Corbin glanced up and down the white halls, trying to see if there was anyone else there. Strangely enough, the halls were barren.
Well, maybe not that strange since it was Friday. The teachers usually made a big deal for T.G.I.F. and got out of the school right after the end of the day Bell rang.
"Cue the raging maniac killer."
He started down the hall that led to Mr. Tims's classroom. Hopefully, the man didn't want to hold him back to talk about the assignment. Corbin just wanted to drop the damn thing off and blast the hell out of there.
Not saying that Mr. Tims was a bad guy or anything. He was actually pretty nice.
Mr. Tims was pretty young for a teacher. A lot of the students fantasized about him. Despite the cringe factor. The teacher/student fantasy was ancient at this point and honestly just weird.
When he got outside his classroom his Jean pocket started to vibrate, alerting him he was getting a notification.
Corbin pulled his phone out. Checked the notification. It was a text from his best friend asking him when he was getting home.
He shot back a text telling him he'd be there in a few.
Just as he finished the text and pocketed his phone a weird noise caught his attention.
It sounded like a grunt.
At this point, Corbin was thinking up different scenarios.
His joke from earlier, about the raging maniac in the deserted school maybe wasn't so much of a shot from reality.
"Fuck." He licked his lips and glanced down the hall for a sigh of anything.
There was no one.
"Probably just overthinking." He told himself with his hand on the knob. "Let's get this done."

He pulled the door open. Leo, his boyfriend stood beside the desk with a book in his hand. Corbin glanced to the desk where Mr. Tims smiled at him.
"Ummm." Corbin shifted uncomfortably. "I have my assignment." He held the folder out but his attention was focused on Leo.
The air was tense. Uncomfortable.
It didn't take a genius to figure out what they had been doing.
Leo's book was upside down. His lips were wet, hair tousled like someone had been holding it seconds before Corbin walked in.
His shirt was wrinkled and halfway down the side of his shoulders. Revealing a pink blemish that Corbin had no memory of making.
Mr. Tims was no better.
His shoulders were tense, his glasses crooked on his nose. His tie was messily undone and untucked from his pants.
Mr. Tims was organized.
But You'd never know from the looks of his desk. Papers were scattered everywhere. Not to mention the puddle of coffee dripping from the edge of the mahogany desk.
Corbin clenched his jaw, holding back whatever cruel thing he wanted to say. "Here." He tossed the folder on the desk.
Leo had a helpless look on his face. He knew there was no need to plead his case. One thing Corbin told him when they started to date: don't cheat on me. If you feel like you don't want to be with me anymore then that's fine. Come to me and we'll break it off.
Leo had not been the first partner to cheat on Corbin. Despite his understanding nature and good boyfriend qualities. They always did him the same.
"Corbin..." Mr. Tims held his hand out like he was trying to talk down a raging beast. "It's not what you think."
Corbin was no raging beast. He was calm. Almost too calm to be honest with you. His chest hurt. The respect and trust he had for Leo, were massacred.
Corbin raised a brow. "No need to explain." Leo and Mr. Tims had the same panicked look on their face. "I don't care. Whatever this is." He waved a hand between the two. "Has nothing to do with me. After all..."
He smirked at Mr.Tims. "I'm not the one with my job on the line." He turned his attention to Leo who was almost in tears. "And most definitely not the one with a pedophile kink."
Corbin gave the two one last disgusted look before he turned to the door. "Oh." He stopped. "That better be an A+."
Mr. Tims stared at him in shock. Corbin snickered to himself. "What? You didn't really think I'd let you take my boyfriend without getting something from it." He grinned.

Corbin left the school with his shoulders held high. He felt like shit but at least his C Average benefited from being betrayed.
"Ahh, blackmail." He slammed the door and started the car. "Never thought I'd see the day I needed you."
Corbin went to the burger joint that he and Leo went to every Friday night. He had his usual bacon burger with a chocolate shake on the side.
He went home, set up the PS5 then called his friends over. They played late into the night.
Later that night when Corbin was in his bed he thought about what he had done or didn't do to make Leo cheat on him.
