Xavier took a sip of his iced coffee, completely distracted by the view in front of him. His crush was a couple of tables down from him, eating pizza.
He looked so good with his dark skin, light green eyes, and dreadlocks. Not to mention his style. The whole alternative look was trying at his heart.
"Would you like more Americano?"
Xavier snapped out of his daydream to look at the waiter in front of his table. Blushing in embarrassment he said, "Yes, please. If you don't mind."
His waiter gave him an easy smile. "No problem at all for you." He took Xavier's cup and turned to the counter.
Xavier directed his attention back to his crush who was on his phone. He was probably writing lyrics to a new song since he was an upcoming performer.
A cup was placed in front of him. Xavier immediately gave a smile to the waiter. "Thanks so much." He pulled the cup toward him.
The waiter gave the same dimpled smile. "Of course." He looked like he wanted to say something else as he glanced behind him and back to Xavier.
"Yes?" Xavier urged kindly, feeling bad for him.
His waiter scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, his cheeks red. "I was just wondering..." he trailed off as Xavier tilted his head in curiosity. "If I could give you my number?"
Xavier was taken aback. "Umm." He glanced at his crush. "I'm not sure that would be appropriate." He risked an apologetic smile at the waiter who nodded in understanding.
"Right. Right. Sorry." He quickly backed away from Xavier, almost running into another waiter but thankfully moved out of the way before they could clash.
Xavier felt terrible but he didn't want his crush to get the wrong idea. With that in mind, he sipped his iced Americano and looked back at his crush who had finished his food and was leaving the table.
He sighed in disappointment. If only he had the courage the waiter did and could just approach him. But unfortunately, every time he tried his words would get stuck in his throat.
