Lumine would be forever thankful for her Monday morning jiu jitsu class. It was the perfect thing to rejuvenate her spirit on those dreary Monday mornings. It was an excellent workout, and it really got the endorphins running.
Sweat dripped down her forehead as she grabbed her water bottle and took a drink. Her opponent had put up a good fight, she'd give them that. They had made one, fatal mistake however - they had allowed her to get the upper hand while grappling. With her small figure, Lumine was often underestimated. That made the victory all the more satisfying.
I should take up Ajax on his offer for sparring at some point, she figured. It would be fun.
After her class had finished, she had changed back into her normal clothes, some sweatpants and a cropped t-shirt. The owner of the dojo, Sensei Varka, smiled at her as she began to leave.
"You've grown so much, Lumine. I remember when you both-" He cut himself off abruptly. "I remember when you were even shorter and scrappier than you are now."
Lumine smiled. "Thanks Varka."
His gaze turned pitying. "Have you had any luck in finding him yet? I know it's been years, but I thought maybe-"
She shook her head. "Nothing yet. I haven't given up hope, though." Every night, she prayed for a miracle. That he would finally be found.
He.
Her twin brother.
Aether.
She shook the thoughts of him from her mind, and continued out to the metro, which returned her to her apartment. Mona was absent, at one of her much-loathed physics classes. Lumine didn't have her first class until that afternoon, which gave her the rest of the morning to grab a bite and catch up on some homework.
Grabbing some cereal, she sat down at her desk and opened her laptop, bringing up her homework from the night before. This essay was really proving to be a bitch. Before she could even begin, a notification from her phone caught her attention.
Ajax:
Hey girlie!
She rolled her eyes before replying.
Lumine
I thought I told you not to call me that, Jaxie.
Ajax:
Touche.
Anyways, whatcha up to?
Lumine
Just finished sparring
Now doing this fucking bitch of an essay.
Ajax:
Sparring?? Without me? How could you Lumi.
(please please please)
Lumine
...I'll consider it.
She placed down her phone and tried to refocus herself on her essay, but her thoughts returned to Ajax. He had really grown to be a genuine friend, one on the same level as Mona. She had her doubts about him, but he had pulled through almost every time.
As far as fake boyfriends go, I sure chose a good one. She thought.
Another notification popped up, and Lumine immediately assumed it was Ajax. When she saw the sender, however, she nearly dropped her phone in her cereal.
