How Makino and Shanks Meet

"MOM! I'm heading out for school!" Luffy yelled at his mother and left closing the door

Makino was a single mother that took take of 3 son's but the other 2 Ace and Sabo both where mostly out because Ace had work or would hang out with his friends, and Sabo apparently had work with Ace with one of four Yonkou Whitebeard, they worked in his company

Makino was reading the bills for this year's rent and noticed it had gotten higher but they nearly had any money, yea she had a Bar named "Party's Bar" but it was only opened on weekends and she would normally sell other things to get money

It was Friday so tomorrow she could open the bar

~8 Hours Later~

"Mom! I'm back!" Luffy would normally be the most excited one and most energetic one out of the three

But you couldn't help feel overwhelmed when he would speak sometimes just hearing his sound so cheerful in a time like this so confusing

"So how's it looking" Luffy asked with bit of a concern voice since he knew they where always on a tight budget

"Not so good since we still have to pay the car, water, electricity, and cooking expenses" Makino said

"I see" Luffy did know somethings about taxes since Makino had taught him by letting him go buy food or just sending him to the store in general but he didn't mind

It was almost Christmas as well and it was getting colder each day, they did have coats and gloves but they just need better clothing's for the winter

"Luffy I think you should go and take a shower it's been a long day and I know you must be sweating" Makino gave a small smile to him and he gave one back and went to the bathroom to get cleaned

Luffy actually worked part time in a convenience store to help with the bills and he had no problem splitting the money he earned with his mother

After a few minutes Luffy came out of the shower with a towel wrapped around his waist and Makino looked at him from head to toe and asked him a question

"Hey Luffy do you have a girlfriend?" To be honest Makino could see her son have a girlfriend with his fine physique, he had a nice face structure, a nice pair of abs, is chest wasn't too big but big enough, a perfect smile that would make any women fall head over heels for him, and he almost looked perfect for any women to be with

"No mom, I'm not in a relationship" Luffy didn't have time for romance and drama in his life since he had school and he needed to help his mother with money

"Why not? Any girl would be lucky to be with you, with your appearance, your charming personality, your good charisma, you would be perfect for almost any girl that would be into you" Makino did bring in good points into why he didn't have a girlfriend

"I don't really have time for getting a girlfriend when you need help with money and I need to study to get better grades so I can get a better job" Luffy explained

"But eventually your going to need to find someone you love"

Makino did have a point but that didn't matter

"Yea I know but not right now I need to help us with this situation" Luffy said and left for his room to sleep since it was getting late

Makino just sighed 'I wish we could get out of this money situation so he could be having a normal school boy life'

And then she left for her bed to sleep since she was going to work at the bar she owned

"I'm off to school! I'll meet you at the bar!" Luffy shouted and left closing the door from behind him
