The two figures sat on the couch holding a cup of tea "I want answers and I want them now," cried Corinne. He looked at her with serious eyes Corinne was surprised about the sudden switch of emotion "Every young witch or wizard gets their powers when they turn 16" the serious voice Bastien spoke with startled Corinne. He explained everything to her telling her She was a witch, her family history, and why she moved to the States "you'll be going to a certain school and there will be people just like you" her grandfather explained. Her face turned into a smirk; she was excited to tell Ally her best friend would be so proud of her. "Oh, and one thing you cannot tell anyone" Bastien explained "what how am I not supposed to tell anyone" Screamed Corinne. Her eyes dropped how can she have such power and not be able to tell anyone "We'll I suppose you'll figure it out" muttered Bastien. She looked at him with confused eyes, did he just say that Corinne thought. "Get ready for dinner I invited some people over I would like you to meet," Bastien said ignoring her "where's my room" Corinne uttered. He looks at her pointing to the right her eyes follow seeing an oak door. She walked over to the taking a step inside she studied the room. Noticing a desk with a gold marble-looking top, and a canopy bed there was a beige scrap drooping from the top. She looked over and saw her trunk on the bed. She opened her trunk, taking out a black dress, she always dressed nicely for dinner. Or at least her mom always made her dress nice. She slicked her hair back in a bun which pulled her face back to give her a lift.

It became dinner time she heard the doorbell ring; she knew the guest must have arrived; she made her way out of the room to greet her grandfather. He walked over to the door to greet the guest. Once the door opened Corinne peaked her head around her grandfather. To look at the family outside there were two parents and a son who stepped inside after a conversation with her grandfather. "This is my Granddaughter Corinne," Bastien said the three studied Corinne the women's face turned into a smirk "nice to meet you, Corinne my name is Mandara Blaise," the woman said. As she shook Corinne's hand she looked over at her husband and son "Corinne beautiful name I'm Rayton Blaise" he gave Corinne a firm handshake. Their son walked over to Corinne he had no facial expression "Nice to meet you Corinne I hope we can be friends" he said with a smirk. "Nice to meet you ...." Corinne said not knowing the boy's name "Bruce Blaise," said the boy. "Nice to meet you, Bruce," she said with a smile looking up at a tall figure in front of her "Let's go eat dinner I made Corinne's favorite for her first day here" beamed Bastien. The five walked over to the table and began to eat they were chattering about their favorite things. "Oh, Corinne my dear you're starting school tomorrow," Bastien said chewing his food Corinne looked up at him with an expression so soon she thought." Do not worry dear Bruce will show you around," the woman said looking over at the two teens sitting next to each other. Corinne was excited to start school and she already as a new friend.

The family left giving everybody a goodbye once they went out the door Corinne looked over at the grandfather "do you need help picking up" Corinne offered. "No, it's fine" Bastien uttered he flicked a finger, and all dishes swung up from the table and landed in the sink. "I'm not going to get used to that" mumbled Corinne.
