Chapter 6: "Asfalis"

Corinne was done packing and she took off her dress, putting on pants and a tee shirt knowing she was going to kick some butt. She heard a quiet knock at the door and as she was going to open it she tripped over a book. When she got done pulling herself up, she read the book "Basic spells for young witches and wizards" read the book. Corinne quickly ran to the door forgetting the guest once she answered the door, she saw a young man mid 20's he had a rasky beard on his chin with a hooked nose. "Are you Corinne?" his coarse voice said "Yes sir I am" followed Corinne. He looked at her noticing how much she and her grandfather look alike. "Good we must get going then," he said Corinne followed him out the round doors they made their way to a car he helped put her stuff in the trunk. She kept a hold on to the spell book she found hoping to read it on the car ride. "what's your name" muttered Corinne the man who realized he forgot to introduce himself. "Akin Walker" he muttered the young girl's eye looked over at the man "well nice to meet you Akin" Corinne greeted. They both got in the car Corinne immediately started reading the book she found knowing she would need it. After an hour of driving, Corinne learned a few new tricks like a levitating spell, a shrinking spell, and much more. "We're here" the man spoke Corinne looked up noticing her house she almost forgot what was going on. 

The two walked into the house noticing the lights were off and Corinne noticed a black figure running across the house. It made her jump back a little bit she moved back behind the man he noticed "you can't be scared" The man said. Corinne looked at him surprised "thanks" she muttered her comment made Akin giggle a little. As they kept walking Corinne remembered a spell for light, she had not tried it she hoped it worked "lampsi" whispered Corinne as I light reached above her finger like a flashlight. She was so relieved it worked. It made a pathway for them to walk in. Corinne heard a muffled scream as she looked next to her. Akin was gone, which meant she was all alone she had to find Akin and her family she made her way to the left going up the stairs. She saw a small light peeking through her parents' bedroom, she made her way to the doorknob and turned it open. Her eyes flicked wide open once she saw her parents tied up and right next to them were Mandara and Rayton, the people her grandfather trusted. Both of their heads snapped in her direction "you've finally shown up" Growled Rayton. Corinne did not tear up she was only filled with anger "how could you, my grandfather trusted you" shouted Corinne but before anyone could say anything the familiar redhead grabbed Corinne  

"Thank you, dear she was getting annoying," the redheaded mother said Bruce put his hand over the red lips of the girl. Corinne could say any spell well her mouth was covered so she did what her mother taught her and kicked him where the sun does not shine. He quickly let go of wincing in pain she jumped back from him trying to remember some spells. Has he got himself together he shot a spell at her, but Corinne quickly blocked it she remembered a spell the tying spell it ties anything it is pointed at "Asfalis" the girl screamed, and before you know it the boy got shot back, and tied in ropes? His mother gasped and made her way over to the girl "when did you learn that it's an advance spell" the ugly woman spoke. Corinne looked at her and with shrug, she spoke "on the way here." The mother looked over at her husband "I'm leaving I don't want my son in danger" she shot a simple spell at the boy untying him. Her husband looked angry "after all are planning you leave after a spell" he shot at her. her words snapped right back at him "you said it wouldn't be dangerous I'm sorry I care about are kids" he looked hurt and betrayed. "I never said that I didn't care" he whined his wife spoke in a soft voice "well then let's go" Corinne was surprised she was ready for a bigger fight.
