Chapter 5"It must have frightened you seeing me dead"

The last bell rang for the day Corinne packed all her stuff up getting ready to go home but it hit her how was she going to get there was no way Bruce was going to take her. She was walking around the halls she did not know her grandfather's number, but then a familiar figure started walking towards her. "Are you coming or not" Bruce mumbled Corinne looked up at him with sad eyes knowing she had to go with him. The two walked over to the car in silence "why does everyone hate me" spoke Corinne he looked over at her not wanting to start the conversation. "Your family history" groaned Bruce Corinne looked at him knowing what he was talking about from the article she had read. She was not sure why she asked when they pulled up Corinne was sad to tell her grandfather about her day. They two stepped out of the car "you don't have to walk me in" remarked Corinne as he looked over at the girl with annoyed eyes. "My mother would kill me if I didn't" Bruce narked the girl just rolled her eyes at his comment. Once the two walked in Corinne yelled for her grandfather there was no response, so she yelled again after no response again. She and Bruce walked around trying to find the old man Corinne made her way to the kitchen to see the lifeless body of her grandfather laying there. Bruce ran into the kitchen after hearing a dreadful scream. His eyes followed her, seeing the image of him grabbing the girl and pulling her away from the crime, he quickly grabbed the phone calling the paramedics. Corinne was sobbing, Bruce did not know how to deal with her emotions. He never got taught how to deal with anybody's emotions, it was an odd thing to really cry in his family. "Um, do you want a hug," asked Bruce, Corinne looked up at him with teary eyes "really do I want a hug," Corinne said annoyed he just looked at her awkwardly.

Corinne heard sirens in the distance she immediately ran outside the paramedics ran inside with a stretcher to receive the old man. Corinne saw the rest of the Blaise family run in "Oh Corinne are you okay" the two said running up and giving her a hug. Corinne looked up at them slightly shaking her head "how about you come and stay with us for a little bit" Mrs. Blaise asked "No no I must stay and take care of the house" blubbered Corinne after a while of them talking the Blaise family left leaving Corinne alone. Corinne was walking around picking up messes she was about to grab the broom when she noticed something on the ground. When she picked it up, she noticed it was a note, so she unfolded the yellow paper reading what was inside.

"Dear, Corinne

It must have frightened you seeing me dead but trust me it will help you; your mother and father are in danger. There are some evil wizards out there after your father for falling in love with a non-magical person I have sent someone to get you at 11:11. You need to save your parents
