"Come on let's go see the penguins maybe that will cheer beomgyu hyung up" Kai said as he walked over and connected his and beomgyus hands so he would keep easier track of him. Beomgyu cringed at the contact, everything was starting to become to much and he didn't know how to tell the others.
As they walked to the penguin exhibit everything started to feel and sound way too much. The screaming of children. The people walking and talking. The noises of the animals. The hand grabbing his. He could feel himself slowly falling apart and he needed out quick.
Beomgyu started scratching his wrist, getting more agitated because of the bandages, making it harder for him to relieve his emotions. Hueningkai glanced down and watched as beomgyu did this. His eyes widen as he sees a bloody bandage underneath the others sleeve. He unconsciously squeezed beomgyus hand feeling dread consume him.
Hueningkai looked up and squealed as they finally made it to the penguins. The noise making beomgyu clasp his hands to his ears, gently stomping his foot on the floor. He looked up but suddenly found it hard to see and hear. Anxiety filled him as he felt the big knot in his stomach burst.
He needs to get out of here.
Tears started rolling down his face as his breathing quickened. Fighting the urge to hit himself he flapped his wrists to help him stay a little bit grounded. He walked up to soobin and tugged on his sleeve. Soobin turned to see what beomgyu wanted and his once smiley face quickly turned to one full of worry.
"Oh my god beomgyu what's wrong?" He asked as he grabbed the others hand. Beomgyu flinched and yanked his hand away quickly, he shook his head and stomped his foot.
"Too much it's too much" he yelled out, sensory overload taking over him as he began to shake with sobs. Soobin remembered something and yelled to yeonjun to come over. The others walked a little bit away from them so they didn't know the situation until hearing their leaders yell.
"Hyungie what's wrong are you ok?" Hueningkai asked when they arrived to where the others were.
"Yeonjun do you have those noise cancelling headphones, I think we need to bring beomgyu to a quiet area." Soobin says as he grabbed beomgyus hand and started walking to the nearest bathroom.
Yeonjun quickly rummaged through his backpack and pulled them out, letting beomgyu know he's about to put them on and setting them on the others head. Beomgyu sighed slightly, the relief of everything being quiet making him feel better. He was still hyperventilating and they needed to get him somewhere safe in order to calm him down.
They made it to a bathroom and the managers made sure not to let anyone in as they were in there. This would make it easier for beomgyu to calm down without any interruptions.
"Ok um beomgyu listen to me please" soobin said as he gently took off the headphones. Beomgyu whined as he suddenly felt the weight of noise fill his head again.
"I know I'll put them back on soon but I need you to calm down first ok? Can you breathe with me please?" Beomgyu nodded weakly and soobin started the breathing exercises. Beomgyu struggling as he was still crying but was obviously trying his best.
After a few minutes beomgyus breathing was back to normal. He hiccupped and rubbed his eyes a bit, feeling a little bit exhausted from what happened.
"Can I hug you?" Taehyun asked quietly and beomgyu nodded. Taehyun carefully wrapped his arms around beomgyu and patted his back. Beomgyu smiled and flapped his wrist softly. Hueningkai went and hugged him as well.
"Do you want these back on?" Soobin asked as he held up the headphones. Beomgyu nodded his head and soobin put the headphones on for him. Soobin then thought of something and he mentally punched himself for it.
