A quick update for you guys!❤

Hairah

"I can off the lights, Hairah. You should sleep. I'll go to the study." Ibrahim says looking up from his laptop.

"No. I'm reading and besides, I don't have a problem with sleeping lights on." He sighs and gets back to his work. After Alex and Ella left, Ibrahim helped me clean the kitchen. Let me tell you, he cleans well. Just before we get to sleep, he got a phone and was assigned some work. Yes, in the middle of the night.

After doing all my night routine and putting Ali to sleep, Ibrahim is still not done with his work. So, I decided to read a book. It's past midnight. I feel bad for him. His eyes are drooping. He is trying hard to concentrate.

Half an hour passed by, and he is still intently working on his laptop. I couldn't hold my eyes from closing anymore. Putting the book away, I settle my body into a comfortable position to sleep. Soon enough, I could feel slipping off into the darkness.

-
I felt the bed dipping. I slowly opened my eyes to see Ibrahim supplicating duas. He blew it over him, Ali, and on me. "I'm sorry If I woke you up." He said running his hand on his face.

"You didn't. I needed water." I half lie. I woke to the feeling of the bed dip but I'm thirsty too. I sit up and take the glass of water from the bedside table. Inspecting the time, I see it's past 2. Ya Allah! He was working all this time?

"You finished just now?"

"No. I had to pray Witr and recite surah Mulk." My heart flips hearing his words.  This is something I admire most about Ibrahim. No matter how exhausted he is, he always put Allah first. I smile and nodded.

(Witr is a prayer to perform after Isha, the night prayer. It is not obligatory but a voluntary prayer—–which has rewards)

Alhamdulillah, Allah, for giving me such a religious man.

---
I quickly sit up and try to stop Ali from crying. He woke up again, in the middle of the night. "It's okay, dear. Come on, let's get you milk." Thankfully, Ali stops crying and starts to only sniffle.

Ibrahim too woke up and tries to get up before I could carry Ali out of the room. "No. No! You are not waking up."

"Why? We do it together."

"Yes, but not tonight. You are already tired and I won't let you out of the bed!"

"Haira-"

"No! I can do it alone."

"Hai-"

"Ibrahim! No!" He sighs and gets back on the bed. "Now, that's more like it. Good boy."

"Jazakh Allah, Hairah." He sounds too tired.

"Wa iyyakum."

----------

"You like it?" I ask Ali, giving him a slice of cheese.

"Yum yum." Cutie.

"Do you want more?" He nodded vigorously, smiling all four of his teeth out. I take a small slice and put it in his mouth. Again a yum yum. Hehe.
