Marley Deluca-Bishop

Chapter 12:

Carina's POV:
"No mama" Luca cries as he clings to my legs, I lift him up onto my hip to try and comfort him. We were currently at the hospital as Avery's dad was being discharged today so Avery had to go back to him,
"Avery has to stay" he cries throwing his arms round my neck as he cries into my shoulder, "Luca, we've talked about this bambina" I sigh rubbing my hands up and down his back, "Avery has to live with her dad again" I say, "you will see her at school though remember" I kiss his head. Maya was at home with Iris and Marley, they had left the hospital after saying goodbye to Avery, they knew it would be hard for Luca. "Let's go home" I say carrying him to the car after we said our final goodbyes to Avery and her dad.

"We're home!" I call out once I open the front door, "Mummy!" Luca shouts wriggling around in my grip so I put him down and he runs over to Maya, "Avery's gone with her dad" I hear him say sadly as Maya hugs him. "Luca do you want to play with Marley and I?" Iris asks him trying to distract him, I shut the front door and remove my shoes before walking over to Maya, the kids run into the garden and play on the swing set we had got them a few years ago for Christmas.

"Maya?" I ask my wife hugging her, she was stood, looking out the window, watching the kids while biting her nails, "He's gonna come here" she says, "Maya it's been 3 days since you were supposed to meet your dad, he's not going to come here bella" I say giving her a kiss, she shakes her head and goes to sit on the sofa. "Maya look at me" I say trying to get her attention, her hands were fidgeting and she was picking at the skin around her nails, her legs started bouncing and her eyes were darting around the living room. "Maya look at me Bella", I say placing my hands gently on the sides of her face, "focus on me bella, try to take deep breaths" I say to her, trying to get her to calm herself. "Maya..." I say, gently lifting her head so her eyes met mine, "your okay bella, I've got you" I say sitting down next to her and hugging her, bringing her head to my chest I let her rest there while I watched the kids through the window.

"I'm going to lie down" Maya says quietly, getting up off the sofa and walking towards the stairs, "okay bella, I will make a start on dinner" I say getting up and walking into the kitchen.

I was half way making spaghetti bolognaise for dinner when Luca came running inside, "hi bambina" I smile as he walks over and hugs my legs. "Can I help Mama?" He asks me sweetly, I pick him up and place him on my hip, "of course" I smile as I kiss his forehead, "where are your sisters?" I ask as I give him a wooden spoon so he can help stir the bolognaise sauce, "on the swings" he says shrugging, "I don't know what they are talking about" he continues, making me chuckle slightly. "Okay bambina can you go and lay the table for me" I ask my son as I get some bowls out of the cupboard and start placing the spaghetti into them.

"Here bambina" I say placing all the food on the table, "I'm going to get your mum and sisters" I kiss him on the head before waking outside to greet my daughters. "Girls it's time for dinner" I say, "okay mama" Iris says starting to walk inside. "Mars?" I question as I crouch down to my youngest daughter, "you need to eat" I say sadly, knowing she'd been struggling the past couple days, "I don't want too" she says barely above a whisper, "just come and sit at the table then Bella" I say kissing her on the head and holding out my hand, leading her inside.

"Maya" I say opening the bedroom door, she was sat on the edge of the bed staring out the window. "Maya" I say again softly going to sit next to her on the bed. "I made dinner" I say wrapping my arms round her. She rests her head on my shoulder. "I know" she replies, "I can smell it" she smiles.  We both get up and walk downstairs to see the kids happily eating, including Marley.
