I decided to get ready a little early, so I won't be "fashionable late". I hear that's what the girls say these days. I walked into my bathroom and thought of what to start on first. I had about a hour till the party and didn't know what to do first. Makeup? The dress? Hair? I sighed, got my computer, and typed "Bethany Mota" in YouTube. I have the internet on my side! After a waste of 20 minutes, I gave up and started with makeup. I see why I have no boyfriend.

"Party! Party!" My mom celebrated prancing in my room with a bottle of wine in her hand.

"You're drunk, mom." I said applying lipstick. "Go back to bed."

"I'm just so happy my baby girl is finally somebody in the world!"

"Wow, I'm totally not offended..."

"If only your father could see you now..." My mom yawned skipping back to her room.

What she said slowed me down. Oh, the memories when my dad was here. I know this makes you think he died by some car accident like in the books. No, he just left. Like left. Not the direction, but left. I rubbed my eyes even thought there were no tears and went to my dress. I wonder how this party is going to turn out.

I tiptoed in my black converse down the stairs. My mom was sleep with the tv on Botched. I finally got out the front door and hopped into my car. It was a red, 50s like convertible with leather seats and I treated it like my baby. Yes, I'm weird. I drove off to the party that was a few miles away from my house. I felt very uneasy driving at night in a hoodless car, so I turned on my favorite band My Chemical Romance.

"You're dead! From the hospital bed!" I sung trying to calm me down a little.

"You're a good singer."

I jumped and saw a very good looking guy drive beside me at the stoplight. He seemed like the same age as me, but I've never seen him ever. I awkwardly grinned and stomped on the accelerator when the light changed to green. I later regretted leaving him once I made it to the party. I just had to screw up it all up! He could of been my new Liam Hemsworth!

I'll just wait for the next boy when I'm 40. I walked into the house that looked absolutely disgusting. Red cups were scattered everywhere and some other stuff that brings it to the next level. I walked through the crowds of teens whipping to the Little Einsteins remix to the backyard. There was a huge pool with a DJ and food. I saw a bunch of girls splashing around in the pool.

"We were supposed to wear swimsuits?" I asked a nearby party animal pointing towards the girls.

"What swimsuits?" The guy asked while smirking mischievously.

Skinnydippers. I face palmed myself and strolled over to the food area. I wonder if there is anything without drugs in it.

"I really don't remember inviting you, Brianna." Vanessa sassed with her clique beside her. I wish I had friends to hold me back. I quickly swallowed the strawberry I found that wasn't drugged.

"I g-got an i-invitation..." I stuttered handing her the balled up invite from my purse.

She snatched it out my hand and stared at it for a few seconds before tossing it in the trash.

"You know you didn't have to dig one out the trash just to come here."

"No, it's real! My mom got it out the mail..."

"Oh, I believe you! Anyway, I saw her dig it out our trash can this morning." Vanessa chuckled showing me pictures on her phone of my mom digging in their trash can.

"T-That's not h-her..." I stammered while my eyes started tearing. Vanessa even showed me a video. My mother was that desperate for me to be somebody. Everything was a lie. Maybe the dress was too!

I felt all eyes on me at the food area, so I quickly ducked out of the scene and back to the backyard. I didn't want to do this anymore. I wish I wasn't being attacked by everyone. I wish my dad didn't run off. I even wish I could talk to someone who took me seriously. I sat on a pool chair far from the party, yet closer to the couples who made out in the bushes. I removed my black converse and laid back to read Unwritten, the 3rd book of Awaken. After what seemed like hours but were actually minutes, I noticed most of the party was moving where I was. Lord help me. Lance Willows, the top football player and Vanessa's boyfriend, was leading them and he seemed pissed. I stuffed my book into my purse and tried to scurry away.

"Where do you think you're going?!" Lance snarled grabbing my arm and pulling me back. "Why the hell are you messing with my girl?!"

"I didn't do anything! I swear!" I cried feeling the tears come back.

"Liar! YOU CALLED ME A SLUT!" Vanessa screamed pretending to wipe a tear.

"You- you-!" I shouted trying to make the words come out.

Before I could say the words, Lance punched my face which almost knocked me out.

"Ooooh!" The crowd yelled enjoying the entertainment.

This can't be happening. A girl against a boy is wrong! How does anyone not notice this! More jocks came to help as they kicked and punched me. I could feel the soreness of my arms and the tasteless blood in my mouth. That's when the tears came.

"You think you're tough, eh?! Fight me, if you can!"One of the jocks teased pulling me up by the top part of my dress. I managed to push him off and get back to my feet. But once I did, Lance zoomed and punched me so hard stumbled into the pool.

It seemed so hysterical to them that even the couples making out stopped to laugh. Yet none of them knew that I couldn't swim. So there I was, drowning. I didn't bother kicking or struggling. I wanted to die. Who would want to stay in this cruel place? A place where you are judged by your appearrance. To think people actually listened to the saying: "Beauty comes from the inside". Now I don't even care if I go to Heaven or not; all I want to do is leave.

I let go of my final breath when I hit the bottom of the pool and closed my eyes.

Suddenly I felt hands around my waist as they lifted me up. The figure was very blurry, but I could tell it was a guy. Someone cared about me? We finally made it to the surface and he carried me up the pool steps. I could hear people complain about him saving me, yet he ignored them.

"There are 6 billion people in the world, yet you let these assholes let you down?" He told me as he laid me back on a pool chair.

"T-Thank you..." I whispered coughing at the same time. I tried to look up at his face but only saw his brown hair until he raced off into the crowd.

The crowd shrugged the situation off and partied to Fetty Wap. I shivered a little while still trying to process what happened.

"I'm very sorry for ever being mean to you, Brianna." A former bully from preschool apologized giving me towel before she walked away.

One person caused someone else to take my bullying seriously. I needed to find my somewhat "savior". I wrapped the towel around my shoulder and stood up. People ignored my limping as I carried my converse shoes to my car. There was a chance I could see him at school tomorrow. This was a party for Ridge High students. I slightly smiled and started the car to head home.
