Broken Family

*Lucas's pov* (Atlantide)

David and I came back and then got clothes and I walked around a bit in them to see how comfortable they are especially for my prosthetic leg. I nodding happily as David haggled the price of the clothes so they are free and I looked at them and promised to bring back some form of payment.

We left as David ranted on about being happy to be back. As we walked we bumped into a mage and I pointed them in the direction of the protectors guild. Nice girl but eh right now we need to see how the guild is because I doubt anything is good especially with Ritchie drunk.

In a matter of minutes did everything go wrong. Stepping onto the island and meeting up with a very tired Kit, a overworked Mario, and Tapio Ritchie's rage could be heard everywhere in the island. It got worst and I know the moment we walked into that room with Ritchie on his seat of alcohol bottles everything went horribly south.

I feel like most of it was a blur Ritchie yelling at us to get missions and Inmo breaking through the roof and then a argument breaking out about Brandon. That was the final draw for Ritchie in his state. Ritchie got up and yelled in furry as lightning struck down and we all got electrocuted. I held back a painful scream, but David immediately ran over to me after I fell to my knees.

Ritchie got angrier as Mario then put up his earth shield and went after Ritchie. I got up and David shot ice at him and well now this is a full on battle that only lasted a few minutes before he blasted us all away with his devil form, the blast itself was a harsh one and it destroyed the Island half of it was now getting sunk under the sea.

All of us got blasted onto remaining platforms covered in smeared dirt and scratches. I came to the surface and coughed as I landed in slightly muddy shores. I looked up and through the rain that poured down on us I saw Ritchie sparking, angry and drunk.

I tried moving, but yelped in pain as I looked over at my leg seeing the prosthetic leg destroyed. Of course it couldn't handle that impact but the wires were getting wet and they was setting pain flares through my body. I felt that they stopped eventually and I looked up seeing David toss the broken leg to the side.

"Come on." David said as I used the water to make a leg as I got up and I looked over just to give a horrid look as Ritchie shot a lightning spear at Kit but Tapio to the hit.

"TAPIO!"Kit yelled in shock and sorrow as Tapio's body fell and Kit caught it holding it.

"No no no, Tapio please don't leave!" Kit cried as Tapio raised a paw and Kit took it crying.

"I'm so happy to have been apart of this guild." Tapio said before Kit sobbed harder

"Tapio..." I started then stopped looking down. How much are we going to loss how much are we going to suffer we're like broken family and this won't be mendable

Ritchie stood in disbelief at his own actions before he took a step back then then blinked away. I sighed as David helped me get over to Mario and Kit. Inmo looked at us and simply followed me and David out to the ship.

We got there and David got me to sit on a creat and I let the water drop so I wasn't using magic. Inmo looked at my leg and was about to question it before I shook my head. Inmo got the idea and closed his mouth as he went and sat down. He was drenched from the rain that came down on us. Mud and grass stains covered him his hair a mess as he had a few scratched. I could see blood on his arm still coming down and I looked at David who had bruises and a few scratches also messy hair, stained and ruined clothes, we just got these....

I sighed as I gathered water and got up walking over to Inmo and he didn't react much as I looked at his arm and there was a bad scrap. Using what I knew about healing water spells I healed that spot enough to not bleed before going back and sat down letting the water leg drop to nothing again.

It was a long time later when Mario finally brought Kit over a hand on each shoulder as Kit refused to look up so Mario got her to sit down as the rains were starting to clear up. I sighed as Mario looked at all of us.

Mud covered, stained clothes, beat up, scratched, bruised, heartbroken and lost guild. Mario looked at me then gave a frown at my one leg.

"I'm not explaining it right now." I said and Mario nodded respectfully as he sat down and hugged kit who had blood stains on her from holding Tapio's dead body. That's still such a harsh sight to see.

I looked up as the rain cleared and we started to see the setting sun. I got up and David held me until I got my water leg before looking at everyone.

"I think we all need to go to Atlantide to rest for some time." I said and everyone looked at me except Kit

"...I agree." Mario said and I nodded

"Now the question is do we want to go now or later?" I asked

"....now please" Kit said and I smiled and nodded before we all felt static and I looked over at Ritchie and Kit glared

"Hey... I know sorry won't fix anything but... I do hope you all don't fully leave. I promise I'll change to be a better guild leader but if you want to leave I understand." Ritchie said looking at us.

"....we need time to recover. Then we'll consider." David slowly stated and Ritchie looked at us.

"Ya.... Also David, Lucas, I'm happy to see you both ok." Ritchie said

"Relatively ok." I said and Ritchie looked at me then gave a shocked but guilt face.

"I....when?" He asked

"....first chapter of the demon book. I wouldn't have survived without Miss P" I said and Ritchie looked guilted.

"I..." Ritchie stayed quiet then went down on his knees which surprised me.

"I'm so sorry for my behavior. I promise I wouldn't touch alcohol again. I know everything I did is unforgivable, but I promise I'll make it up someway or another." Ritchie said his voice shook a bit in places as I looked at David and David walked forward then grabbed Ritchie's shoulder.

"Please don't do that.... We'll be going to Atlantide to recover and think. We'll come back if we want to stay." Ritchie looked at him and nodded

"I'll be in what remains around here." Ritchie got up and blinked away and I sighed as Kit was looking at me before she got up and hugged me and I looked at her and hugged back.

"I'm glad your alive." She said and I smiled

"So am I..." I said hugging back before picking her up and she was a bit hesitant to let me but I said it was ok as I walked to the boat and set her down as Inmo and Mario got on. David went to the steering wheel

Inmo got the sails and I looked at the island as he left and I saw Ritchie watching us leave and I frowned. I saw him and Brandon close to father figures of the guild seeing this was just... I don't need to say more.

We left the guild island but I know that I am coming back. This was the first place that welcomed me in and made me feel at home again. I don't want to leave some place behind again.

Or at least a place that can be mended in some way.
