Water Climbs

*3rd person*

For four weeks Boat stayed in bed and recovered. Thanks to Miss P's tea the recovery went quicker as David took bits of trees and tried his hand in carving out a pair of crutches. It was a long process spending each day working and chipping away. Finally on the third week Boat, with help, came out onto the deck and was able to enjoy the view and some fresh air as Polly watched him.

Finally after many cuts and many mistakes David got good enough crutched that he gave to Boat. It took a bit, but Boat was able to work them out so now he wandered around the ship. It was like having three legs. So now Boat can wander the ship carefully, but he still had to stay aboard as David was taken by Miss P to go collect some crazy animal, but she did help so that David didn't die.

Boat always greets them at the ladder and Polly would work on getting the ship started. Yes Boat drank the tea so he wasn't constantly in his god form, but he still had yellow eyes. David was still refusing to drink the tea and they likely will never get him to drink it.

However while the boys were sleeping Miss P spent time working on a very special item. A mechanical leg. Of course the operation to get it connected will be painful, but with some tea Boat will be ok.
For the most part

*Boat's pov*

I yawned waking up feeling some pain and I lifted my covers and looked at my leg. I only have like maybe a third of my top half of my leg left which isn't much but still. Besides that I got up grabbing my crutches as I slowly opened the door and moved into the kitchen. I warmed up some of the tea Miss P left to help with subsiding the pain.

I sat on the counter before I heard footsteps and I looked at the stairs seeing Miss P awake. She looked at me and smiled walking over as Polly flew down and landed on my good lap leg. I was sitting on the counter anyways.

"Good morning Boat, how are you doing?" Miss P asked before going through the fridge pulling out something to eat.

"I've been doing a lot better, still obviously adjusting to life without a leg." I said before looking down and frowned as I let the semi hot cup rest in my hands. No it doesn't burn otherwise I would have sent it on the counter top

"Hmm, something else bothering you?" Miss P asked as she started to brew an earl grey.

"....I'm just wondering what I'm going to do for my guild life since I can't operate well with my missing leg" I said and Miss P huffed as she turned off the stove leaving her water unboiled. As she put a hand on my shoulder

"Come with me Boat were going to be doing something special today." Miss P said and I got a hit nervous, but I listened and followed Miss P out on the deck before I felt Polly grab my shirt.

"What's going one?" I asked before Miss P opened the gate and dropped the ladder.

"Climb down." Miss P said and I gave a shocked, but also 'are you crazy?' face.

"I'm serious try climbing down don't worry Polly will be there to hold you so you won't fall." Miss P said and I blinked confused before she walked away and Polly gave me a small peck on the head

"Ok ok ok I'll try." I said going over and sat down letting my leg hang over as I set down my crutches and started to try to go down.

Turning was a very hard part and when I got my foot into a nice hold Miss P came back and put a open canteen of water over my neck so it hung on me.

"Use that if something happens" Miss P said and I was confused.

I looked down and my heart slightly jumped until Polly pecked me. I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at she chirped at me. I sighed and took a deep breath.

"Your right, don't focus on the bottle just right now." I said as I started trying.

It was extremely difficult and I had to use my arms a lot and I had to move quickly in order to avoid slipping as I managed to get to the second step down.

"Ok this is exhausting." I said as Miss P chuckled.

"If you get halfway through then your doing good and I'm sure you'll make it to the bottom fine." Miss P said and I looked at her and huffed as I moved down another step quickly.

*Miss P's pov*

I watched Boat carefully as he made his decent down and he had to take frequent breaks by putting his leg through the hoop and just sat on the rope as he put his arms through another hoop to keep him in place without having to hold on.

I watched as David came over to me as he yawned rubbing his eyes. Obviously he had just woken up, maybe looking for Boat. Oh he'll be getting quiet the surprise.

"Hey old bat have you seen Lucas?" David asked looking at me.

"Yes he's right there." I pointed down and David took a moment before he freaked and looked over the edge of the railing.

"Lucas!" He yelled as water boi looked up.

"Hi David!" He yelled up while waving

"What the fuck are you doing!?" David yelled

"Climbing down, what does it look like?" Raindrop called up and I chuckled.

"Training without a leg, it's good for him, Polly will make sure he doesn't fall off so don't worry." I said as David looked at me

"Are you crazy!? He just got fully healed and now your having him climb down a ladder?!" David yelled as I looked down seeing Boat work his way down again.

"Just wait, it'll all work out." I said as I got up and left leaving David to watch Lucas.

I walked into my work area and looked at mostly built leg. I've been working on making it waterproof so that Lucas can function with it. However before I give the leg to Lucas I want to train him. Try to get him to develop ways to hold himself. We'll still continue through the pages, but at least Lucas will be getting training. I'm not risking the ship being taken so he'll have to work on climbing.

Honestly I'm half tempted to tie up David's leg so he's handicapped so he has to get creative as well with his ice powers. It would be good for the two boys and also prepare them to be much better S class mages. Honestly their more A class then S. Well, I have projects to finish and I'll make sure these boys are in top shape when we leave this book.

I chuckled hearing David yell down to Lucas as I grabbed the leg and started working.
