Slippers padding on the castle floors, I speed to the left wing of the castle to my parent's room, my 2 personal guards hurrying along to follow me. Lightly knocking on the door, I enter. "Good morning!" They rarely have time to spend with me but we love each other nonetheless. They smile, "Happy birthday, Selene!"

I am truly blessed to have such great parents, and I will never take that for granted. They can be overbearing at times such as this but I put on my best smile and act like my world isn't falling apart. They give me details for when to debut and my mom will be sending me a dress.

Exiting their grand chambers, I head towards the library, where I spend most of my time. Knowledge is power and always will be. You see, I am 5'3 and average built. Since I cannot be gifted in strength like my brother, I rely on books to better myself as a person.

Arriving in our famous library will always be astonishing. The library has large mahogany bookshelves towering up to the ceiling and potted plants bloom through the sunlight shining past the window, casting an etherial glow. The three-story library hosts around 2 million books and I have tried to read as many as I can. I love every genre including history, politics, sciences, but most importantly, romance.

My personal guards usually stand outside of the doors in the corridor. Thank gods. I enjoy having alone time in here to think. I pick up my favorite romance novel and climb up a ladder onto a bookshelf to my seat next to the window that overlooks the mountains. The sun sets in pinks and oranges like it is calling for me to follow its path.

About 2 hours go by and I set the book on my window-seat hoping I may see this library once again, someday.

Time to face the music.
