The O'Rylie family sat around the dinner table, quietly eating dinner when Brayden spoke up.

"Hey mom, can my girlfriend come over for dinner tomorrow? I want you guys to meet her." Brayden said.

"Sure, sweetheart." Sarah smiled.

Brayden nodded and went back to his food.

After dinner, Brayden got a hold of Jasmine to let her know the plan.

The next day, Jasmine was excited. She hadn't met any of his family. She searched through her closet and picked out a knee-length, lavender dress. Then, she went to her vanity and put on some jewelry before doing her makeup. It was still early, so she decided to get coffee.

She walked out of her room and grabbed her keys. She walked out of the house, locking the door before she got in her car. Jasmine drove to a nearby cafe, it wasn't very big, but it was a cute shop.

She walked in and looked around. At the counter, she saw a beautiful girl with long, black hair, and grey eyes that almost glowed in the sunlight. She slowly walked up to the counter and ordered.

She gave the barista a warm smile before sitting at one of the cafe's small tables. After she finished her coffee, she left to head home until dinner. But she did regret not talking to the girl. She seemed nice.

Once it was time for dinner, Jasmine texted Brayden and quickly left the house.

After about a 15-minute drive, she was there. She let Brayden know she was there before walking up to the door and knocking. After a few moments, the door was opened. But it wasn't Brayden. It was the girl from the cafe.

"Uh... Hi," Jasmine smiled.

"Hey," She responded.

Brayden walked up behind her and looked over at Jasmine.

"Come in," He said.

Jasmine gave a small nod and walked into the house.

"So, I see you've met my sister, Haylee. This is my mom, and this is my dad," Brayden said, introducing everyone.

"Hello dear," Sarah smiled.

"Hey. Nice to meet you kid," Blake said.

They all sat at the table while Blake went back into the kitchen.

"So, Jasmine. Do you have a job?" Sarah asked.

"I work in retail," Jasmine replied.

"Do you have any siblings?"

"Nope,"

"What do you do in your free time?"

"I like to-"

"Do you have any pets?"

"I have-"

"Do you do good in school?"

Jasmine started to get nervous from all the questions. Her leg started bouncing up and down.

"I-"

Jasmine's breath hitches as Haylee placed her hand on her leg.

"Mom. I think that's enough," Haylee said.

Sarah sighed.

Jasmine locked eyes with Haylee, who gave her a small smile, as she took her hand away.

"Dinners ready!" Blake said, bringing out all the food.

Jasmine sighed, hoping the rest of dinner would go well.

Luckily, the dinner went well. Jasmine said goodbye to everyone and thanked Brayden's parents for the dinner. She was left alone in her thoughts on the ride home. She did think it was weird how Haylee noticed more than Brayden. Brayden usually noticed everything.

"It was probably nothing," She muttered to herself.

Once she got home, she got ready for bed. She sighed as she sat down on her bed. Now she was really lost in thought.

Brayden was acting differently tonight. He was off. Distant. It's weird... I hope everything is okay with him...

Soon, she drifted off to sleep.
