The sun was rising, it shone through the curtains. Jasmine's deep brown hair was sprawled across her pillows. Her hazel eyes fluttered open as the sun made them look like pools of honey. She slowly sat up, sliding off her bed. She walked into the kitchen to grab her breakfast. After eating, she went to the bathroom to get ready for the day.

She walked into her room to get changed. She searched through her closet and drawers for an outfit to wear. She picked out a white and blue checkered crop top with thin straps, white bell-bottom jeans, white tennis shoes, and a pearl necklace.

She was planning on meeting Brayden and Haylee at an escape room. She grabbed her keys off her desk and ran to her car. Once she arrived at the escape room, she met up with Haylee and Brayden.

"Hey," Jasmine smiled.

"Hey," Haylee said, returning the smile.

"Hi," Brayden said, straight-faced.

While waiting for the worker, Brayden got a text and left. He didn't say goodbye to Jasmine or Haylee, he just left.

Jasmine sighed as the worker walked up to them.

The worker led them to their escape room. The instructions popped up on the screen.

With Brayden gone, Jasmine and Haylee were able to grow closer. They got to know a lot more about each other.

"So he doesn't even know your favorite flowers?" Haylee asked.

"Nope. He thinks my favorite flowers are roses. My favorite flowers are actually orchids," Jasmine laughed dryly.

Haylee frowned.

"You guys have been together for almost a year. You would think he would care to learn your favorite flower," Haylee said, putting a puzzle together.

Jasmine shrugged.

"I guess I'm just used to it," She said.

Haylee sighed.

"You shouldn't have to be," Haylee muttered.

"What was that?" Jasmine asked, turning around.

"Nothing," Haylee smiled.

Jasmine slowly nodded and turned back around.

They ended up completing the escape room with a few minutes left.

"We did it!" Jasmine exclaimed, hugging Haylee.

And for the first time in a while, she laughed, a real, genuine laugh.

Not long after, they both went their separate ways. When Jasmine got home, she called Brayden.

It rang a few times before she heard his voice on the other side.

"Hello?" He answered.

"Hey!" Jasmine said.

"What do you want, Jasmine?" Brayden asked, impatience lacing his voice.

Jasmine frowned.

"What's up with you? You've been distant lately, you left before we even started the escape room, and I talked to your sister more today than I've talked to you in the past two days. What's going on Brayden?" Jasmine rambled, getting more upset by the second.

Brayden scoffed.

"Nothing," Brayden said.

"Now I know that's a lie," Jasmine said.

"Maybe I don't want you annoying me every second of the day," Brayden said.

"What the hell is wrong with you Brayden?" Jasmine gasped.

"Nothing. I'm just speaking my mind," Brayden said.

Jasmine scoffed before hanging up.

Tears formed in her eyes. She tried to hold them back, but she couldn't. She couldn't believe what Brayden had said to her. They had barely talked in the past few days. She just wanted her boyfriend. She just wanted someone to love her. But now, she was losing him. Her greatest fear was coming true. She really was losing him.

Now the tears were flowing, and she couldn't stop them.
