Alex saw a long hallway that led to a mirror. There was a piece of large paper on the wall. It read...
THE THREE WAYS TO CAPTURE A SOUL:
KILL THE VICTIM THEN HARVEST THEIR SOUL FROM THE UNDERWORLD
STEAL THE VICTIM'S EYES
BREAK DOWN THEIR SOUL AND COLLECT IT FROM THEIR LIFELESS BODY
He continued to walk towards the mirror. There was only a small blonde bunny in the mirror and nothing beyond. He looked back and the door was still closed. He touched the mirror as it glowed where he was. He stepped away and he still only saw himself in the mirror. He went back and put his hand to the mirror again. He leaned into it and fell to the ground.
He got up to look around. He was in a small black room with a low shelf at the back of the room. He stood in the middle and looked back at the mirror, but there was only a wall. He looked at the shelf and there was a blanket with a large lump inside of it. He took it off and saw a black cat lying there.
"Annabelle!" Alex yelled happily. He turned the body over and saw Annabelle deep into sleep. "Come on Annabelle! Wake up." He whispered.
He shook her until her eyes opened slowly.
"Annabelle!" He hugged her tightly.
"Where- am I?" Annabelle asked.
Alex didn't know what to say, but just wanted to be with her.
"Come on, let's just get out of here."
Annabelle stood up and went with him. He pulled her out of the mirror but felt her warmth leave his hand. He slowed down and looked back. She was gone. He went back to the mirror.
He walked in and she was back sitting on the shelf.
"Annabelle, what happened?"
"I- I don't know. Just when you ran out my hand slammed on the wall."
"Can she not get out of here?" The stone dinged once.
"Is there a way to get her out?" The stone dinged once.
"What are you doing?" Annabelle asked.
"It's a lot to explain." He looked back at the wall. "But I promise to come back."
"Please wait-"
Alex left the mirror to question the stone.
"What am I supposed to do?" He said, and he had begun to tear up a little bit.
He walked up and down the hall, biting his nails, and stopped at the scroll. "Am I the only thing that can get her out of there?" The stone dinged once.
"What do I need?" The stone didn't do anything. "Is it her soul?" The stone dinged twice.
"Does it have anything to do with her?" The stone dinged once.
Alex thought really hard about what to do. "Something about her body?" The stone dinged once.
"I get it. So her soul is trapped there and it doesn't have a body to escape?" The stone dinged once.
"I have an idea."
He left and went down the path he took to get there. The forest went back to normal from Alex committing arson. He used his foot prints to find his way back and came to the cabin he found the key in. He looked back in just once, it was the exact same as before. He continued for a long time until he found more trees with green.
The dirt was now brown again and not gray. The world was still, but more life like as well. He kept walking and was back at the treehouse. He took the cat and went home to quickly eat after starving for who knows how long.
