The Well

Alex saw a bright green light above him. It was coming from the only acorn in a tree. He climbed up and barely reached it. The light from it flew away to the town. Alex ran to it. The light formed a black cat who looked to be a young gentleman.

"Hello there." Said the cat as it waved to him. "I'm so sorry for the mishap I put you in."

"It's ok." Alex assured him. "It's over now. Well, at least it is for you."

"Yes, your right."

"But, it's ok." Alex took out the stones. "I'm managing myself, and I brought these for you."

The stones turned into the family and they all rejoiced in their love. Alex no longer felt jealous, but instead proud of what he had done. Without him, the happiness would've never existed, and this family would've never been able to rejoice in their love.

"Thank you so, so much child." Said the cat.

"Yeah, your welcome." Alex smiled.

"Now there are only two left for you." Said the mother.

"Ok, but it seems like this'll be a breeze."

"Oh no, it won't be sadly." Said the mother

"What? What do you mean? I have most of you, that's more than enough power to take on anything."

"Oh no, no no no." The mother said concerningly. "The greatest danger you ever faced is yet to come."

"What do you mean?" Alex asked. "Will I be in danger, or more danger."

"Yes." The mother replied. "And that's why you need something of greater power than any of us."

"Where can I find that power."

"We will guide the way to it." She said. "But first, you must let my son lend his power to you."

The black cat created a ball of lightning out his hands and it soaked into the blade.

"We will be within the blade. Guiding you to the well."

Then they flew up into the sky before Alex could ask anything about this "well". He picked up the stones and set them in his bag. He looked around the land for a start and decided to head up the market. Over the hill, he could not see the pantheon anymore. It disappeared entirely. Leaving only the forest.

The forest looked alive. The trees had all grown back to the normal amount they used to be. And some of them began to grow leaves. And the color of ash seemed to have disappeared as well. He walked over the hill and down the path. Nothing grew on the floor, the only thing were trees that somewhat grew back their green. The bark was now brown again and the floor was a mix of very light gray and brown dirt. He stopped and began to wonder how the family was actually going to help him. They hadn't done anything since they left, so why did they promise him assistance? He shook around the sword and waited for it to do something. Then he saw that once he held it up, it glowed brightly in front of him.

He held it forward and it shined bright in one direction. He followed that way, knowing it wasn't a trick. More hands came for him, but they were no match for the power he possessed. More trees seemed to follow him as well. Monsters formed from the earth and attacked in groups. Alex lost his way and was farther from the destination. He continued where the glow led him.

He saw more and more trees, believing that there were others he could not see. He started running. It was too dangerous to stay in one spot. Even with the sword and the blanket, he still wouldn't know what to do if he was being attacked and a tree came in from the darkness to keep him still. The ground grew vines, tripping him, or at least trying to. He couldn't see everything, it was just the truth. The stones could warn him if there was something there, but not where it is. He kept running no matter what. No matter how many hands followed him through the wind. No matter the threat of everything he could not see, he had to run. The light led Alex to a cabin.
