"Can... can you help me please?", you asked and fell to your knees, covered in blood.
"Who the hell are you?", Tony asked and then looked behind you while Steve came close cautiously.
"What happened? Who are you?", he asked softly.
"I... I got followed and I don't...", you got out before everything went black."She's waking up", a voice said and you could hear some noises. Slowly you opened your eyes and saw Steve, Bruce, and Tony around you.
"Where am I...?", you asked low.
"In the Avengers tower. Do you remember anything?", Steve asked.
"A-Avengers... tower?", you asked hesitantly and Steve nodded.
"Am I dead?", you asked seriously but the men chuckled, thinking it was a joke.
"No, but you might soon if you don't tell us who you are and what you want", Tony said.
"I'm y/n y/l/n and... to be honest I just want to understand what's going on."
"What do you mean?", Bruce asked interested and came closer.
"I... well I was just in my room and the next thing I know is that I am somewhere I never was before and...", the pictures of the events flashed by which made you tear up, "and there were people, they had guns... they saw me and wanted to kill me." The tears were now rushing down your cheeks.
"And you don't know how you got there?", Steve asked worriedly.
"No... I mean this whole situation can't be true, I have to be dead", you said with a nervous laugh.
"Because you somehow managed to get in here?", Tony asked.
"No, because you don't exist", you said and the men looked confused at each other.
"For your record, I pretty much exist and so do the others. I suppose you might need some more time to get better," Tony said chuckling.
"Anyways, I took care of your bullet wound, it didn't hit anything serious so you will be fine as soon as it's healed", Bruce said and your eyes widened.
"I got... I got shot? Like for real?"
"Duh, that's why you came in?", Tony jumped in.
"I... I... oh, god..." The rhythmic beeps of the monitor next to you began to get faster.
"You both get out, please", Bruce commanded and Tony wanted to say something, but Steve just pulled him outside.
"It's okay, y/n, calm down. It doesn't help your recovery to panic so let's go through this together, okay?", he asked softly and you nodded.
"So, where do you live?", he asked and got his tablet.
"In Germany...", you said low and tried to breathe more slowly.
Bruce looked up from his tablet, his brows furrowed: "And what are you doing in New York City then?"
"I told you, I have no clue how I got here! In my world, you don't exist!"
"So you're from another planet?"
"What? No! There are no planets with life on it."
"So you think there are no aliens?", he asked and studied your face.
"What I am saying is, that in my world there is no such thing as the tesseract, infinity stones, Thanos, Hydra or whatever!", you said angrily because he didn't want to understand.
"How do you know about those?"
"Just... just get Dr. Strange here. Please, he will understand", you said sighing.
"Who's that? Or did you make up that name?", he asked and tilted his head a little.
"Huh? No! It's... oh god, come on... You don't know Stephen Strange?"
"I can look for him if it makes you feel better. Who is he to you?"
"Jarvis?", you asked but Bruce just smiled.
"I don't know how you know about Jarvis but the AI is named Friday", he said.
"Okay, so you have Vision, right?", you asked cautiously and Bruce nodded confused.
"Friday, what is Dr. Stephen Vincent Strange currently doing?"
"I have no information about the current location of this person, I suppose", Friday answered.
"Okay... That is... bad...", you said sighing and tried to sit up but Bruce stopped you.
"Do you want your wound to open up again? Stay low", he said demanding.
"I just want this to be solved... I... I wish I could say I want to be home again but that would be a lie. Yet here I have nothing so... I just don't know what to do."
"You can stay for a while but you have to follow the rules", he offered.
"Which are...?"
"Do what I tell you so your wound can heal properly and don't sneak or snoop around. This is still not for public eyes", he explained.
"I am not public eyes and more your in-between mission I suppose. Ever heard of the Multiverse?"
"The Multiverse is a myth, nothing more", Bruce said sighing, a bit overwhelmed with the current situation.
"It's not. I guess I am living proof since you aren't more than a figure in a comic book or on a screen in my universe."
"So we're fiction?", Bruce asked and you nodded.
"You should get some sleep, maybe you will have a clearer mind then."
"I'm not lying!", you exclaimed.
"I'm not saying you are but this whole thing doesn't sound right to me."
You sighed and nodded, knowing arguing wouldn't get you anywhere.
"If anything is wrong, just hit the button next to your bed", he explained and left.Waking up you found yourself in your bed. "I'm... home? Was it just a dream?", you asked yourself loudly. You took your phone and checked the date and time which puzzled you even more. "It was just an hour? How? It must have been a day minimum!"
You wanted to stand up but the pain in your abdomen let you stay in bed. "What the...?!"
Pulling your shirt up you saw the bandaged wound. "So... it wasn't a dream?
Checking the unread messages and the missed calls you noticed something was off:
Your friend Felix kept asking if you were alright because of the stabbing wound. "What...?"
You called him back and asked him what was going on.
"Well, you sent me a message saying that you stabbed yourself by carrying a knife and tripping over something and then you just wrote that you were going to lie down and were suddenly gone. It should be me asking what the hell is going on?! I was worried! Are you okay?", he explained fast.
"Yeah, I'm alright, it just pretty much hurts. You wouldn't believe what I dreamt!", you exclaimed.
"Were you gone because you took a nap?", he asked a bit annoyed.
"Yeah."
"Then why didn't you say anything?! I was about to come around and check if you're dead!", he said almost yelling.
"Sorry. But like... my dream! I dreamt that I actually got shot and ran to the Avengers!"
"So what?", he asked and you stayed quiet for a little.
"It just felt so real, I thought it was real. And I... I don't remember hurting myself..."
"Don't you think we should better go to the hospital? I mean maybe it needs stitches... or is contaminated...", Felix said worried and you heard the way he trailed off to his thoughts.
"Don't worry, Bruce took care of it", you said.
"Bruce? You mean Bruce Banner?", he asked hesitantly.
"Yeah."
"Get your stuff, come on. Let's meet at the hospital", he said demanding and you sighed.
"Okay", you agreed, knowing you must sound completely out of mind but it just felt so real to you.The doctor had a look at your wound and was wondering why you came over when the wound was already stitched up. Confused you looked out the window, there was no way you could have done it by yourself. "It looks good, I don't have to do anything there. But next time don't let a friend do it and come right away", he said when you had lied that a friend had stitched it for you and you just remembered. While he was a bit worried about your memory loss he couldn't diagnose you with anything and just told you to rest for the next few days.
"Everything alright?", Felix asked and you nodded.
"Just gotta rest", you explained and Felix nodded while thinking about something you guessed was how he could help you.
