out of the woods

*Tyler's POV*
We were all in my car. I looked at Wednesday and said, "Now we're both getting out of this hell town." She smiled at me and stroked my arm. I asked if everyone was ready and when I got approval I started the car. The time had actually come, I'm leaving this town and I'm never coming back. I'm incredibly excited for the future with Wednesday.
I felt like we drove forever. When we got to the sign with Jericho crossed out in red, 100 worries and burdens fell off my shoulder. I felt lighter straight away. I think we all felt that way. I saw Thing put in a CD, and to our bad, it was pop music. Enid started singing loudly, at first we were all annoyed, but a short time later we all had to sing along. Also Wednesday, we sang our souls out. And that felt good. It was like therapy for all of us. On the way, Wednesday called Bianca and Eugene. They have already made a date when they will visit us in our apartment. I still couldn't believe it, our apartment. And that only because she has the best and most loving parents. They know what happened and They know what happened with my father. They have written to me every day since then, always asking how I am doing. It makes me happy that I seem to be genuinely liked by her parents. After 4 hours of driving, we all took a break. We stopped at a rest stop, got something to eat and drink and we talked. After the break we drove on, since I'm the only one with a driver's license I had to drive the whole way, it was quite exhausting. When we finally got there, Wednesday's parents welcomed us and helped us carry our things inside.

*Wednesday POV*
I was happy to see my parents again. My little brother was there too, but he didn't look too happy to see me.

Pugsley: "I was so happy when I heard you weren't going to Nevermore anymore. I thought you were finally coming home. I miss you.
Wednesday: "But I'm at home now. This is my home. You can come here at any time, you don't live far away from here. I miss you too, but I'm always with you.

When we had carried everything in, we all looked around. Enid and Ajax fled straight to their apartment. Everything was painted white, there was a lot of light and the rooms were large.

Tyler: "The brightness in here is blinding, isn't it?"

I had to laugh. I said we have to change that quickly. We still needed furniture anyway and Tyler said we could get that all done today. He inherited his father's money, we should get by with that for a while. But Tyler also wants to look for a job here soon.
So we drove to a furniture store together and logically bought furniture and paint to make everything a little more homely. When we had everything and drove back, we started. We got black and gray color. Enid and Ajax had pink, light blue and a pastel yellow. Dreadful. Tyler and I had a lot of fun. Of course, as with any bad romance, we also had to paint each other, dancing weirdly and giggling. When we were done painting the walls, we began to assemble the furniture. For the bathroom we had everything black, the sofa was also black but our bed was white because I wanted at least one light color for Tyler. Even so, the bedroom was painted black. It was horrible setting it all up. When we were done, we checked if everything was dry. Since we only had dark paint, we didn't have to paint over it again. Then we put the furniture where it belongs. It was perfect. I felt right at home. Of course we also got a little decoration, we had a few plants, some hanging across the wall. It looked perfect.
Then we realized we forgot something. We didn't have any cutlery. But we didn't want to go again, so we searched the internet. We found absolutely beautiful matt black plates and bowls, forks and knives in silver with black details. I was happy, everything's going exactly the way I want it to.
I then sent pictures of the finished apartment to the group, Bianca wrote: Total Pinterest.
Enid and Ajax also sent pictures of their apartment, which was a bit unnecessary because me and Tyler could just check it since they live right next to us, but we were too tired. Their apartment was the complete opposite of ours. But that was okay. Enid and I are completely different, and yet we fit together perfectly.
I loved it so much. After everything was in its place and we had ordered the things we had forgotten, we went to sleep. We brushed our teeth before in our apartment in our own bathroom. I still can't believe it, it's too good to be true. We then went to bed, he hugged me from behind and to fall asleep we listened to a true crime podcast. It's best for me to fall asleep to something like that. And I love hearing about new murder cases and maybe finding a new favorite.
When I woke up the next morning, Tyler was gone, but I could hear noises coming from the kitchen. He made me breakfast, but since we didn't have any cutlery, he could only make me a smoothie. I had to laugh, it was like those horrible romance movies again. But it wouldn't be a morning with me if we weren't watching a horror movie or a true crime video. Everything was perfect. I never imagined my life to be like this, but I'm glad it's the way it is.
