Cole POV:
Gosh, what is wrong with me? Every time I look at her I see right through her mask to the pain she's hiding. But I can't do anything about it, can I? I ask myself that every day. She sacrificed so much for us. She's scarred for life, emotionally and physically, but she never gave up. Even when I pushed her aside, even when everything she said was dismissed, she kept going. She did it for the safety of our team, and we just let her. All she wanted was to make sure we were safe, sacrificing her own security for it. And what did she gain through it? Absolutely nothing.
But Vania...
No. There's no 'but Vania.' She means nothing. A flippant memory. Nothing more. She did it for personal gain. And what did she get? A throne and control of the kingdom. But Celine? She gave so much only to earn nothing but pain. She doesn't deserve this. But I can't do anything, can I? I feel I can't help her until I work through my own mistakes and problems. But I will help her, I promise.
