Not even a minute later Enid walked in the room, it looked like she had just melted on a fire. She continued to prance over to her desk.
I peered behind my back silently while watching her open the letter and add onto it. It felt like a bunch of thorns had pierced through my heart, usually it would be a natural feeling but it felt at the moment.
Thing tapped on my desk, bringing my attention back to the hand. "What?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
The hand did a bunch of "inaudible" motions before giving up. To my knowledge, I couldn't understand any of which he was trying to get to me. Finally, he signed a sentence. It was mostly saying how jealous I was. But how could that be jealousy? Jealousy was when you wanted something so bad but couldn't get it out, nor find it.
"I'm not jealous!" I whispered to Thing, tempted to throw him onto the floor. He tapped on the desk a couple more times as if he were giving backlash to me. Finally, I heard a crumble of paper.
Looking back, to my surprise Enid was crumbling the paper, then throwing it in her trash bin. She met eyes with me halfway through the action. "What?" She raised a brow, obviously suspicious of my behavior.
"Nothing." I jerked my head back to Thing, who looked like he was about to jump off the desk himself and leave. He signed a bunch of sarcastic quotes he most likely found off of Enid's phone.
"You — Stop being annoying, we need to research more on the monster." I scolded the hand, scooping him up by his pointer finger to leave him hanging. He squirmed a bunch in the air, worried of what wold happen next. I could barely make out his agreement of loyalty, it wasn't the first time he was pledging it.
"I'll be heading to you know." I made sure to whisper as quite as I could, it would be embarrassing if Enid, the social media bomb, to find out where I was headed. I couldn't study in an environment such as the room.

I hoisted on my coat on with my backpack. There was no way I could go with my research book I had stolen from the NightShades and my research notebook, as known as my diary. Yuck, past me wouldn't oblige to having a diary. But where else was I supposed to but anything important, a blog? "Come on, Thing." I helped him up, hefting the hand on my cold shoulder.
"Where are you going?" Enid finally acknowledged my presence. I slowly peered at her, gaping my mouth shut. I wouldn't want her and her goons to come and play tag with me.
"I would give you a full explanation, but as you say, T.M.I." It was rather smart of me to use one of the girl's annoying abbreviations back at her. She rolled her eyes while turning back around and opening her laptop. She was probably about to confess her love to Ajax in one of her blogs. As I said, teenage romance is a no go.

I bent my head down in sore embarrassment while standing outside the Weathervane. I thought that I was through with the coffee shop, but it had a surprisingly nice work environment. I just knew Tyler would be manning the front, it was my cold luck. But I would rather prefer cold luck than warm. I bit my lip as the bell of the door rung while I pushed open the door. To my cold luck, Tyler prepared a coffee to a customer.
"Wednesday!" The boy miraculously noticed my presence. I silently walked to my usual spot, it was better to be cold than bold, or however people prefer. I sat down, unzipping my bag. I took a look at my materials. My diary, the research book, and some pens. Just what I needed, quite literally something went my way for once. Thing jumped off of my shoulder while I unpacked everything.
"Hey Wednesday, I understand why you would run away on a scary session like that." The eyesore strolled over to me, rubbing his neck while chuckling. I twitched my eyebrow, annoyed.
"Shh . . . I was just enjoying my thirty seconds of luck." I put a finger up to silence the boy, closing my eyes hoping that he would disappear when I reopened them.
"Wow, so you did miss me?" I opened my eyes to see a barbarically annoying boy smiling. I rolled my eyes. Nobody in the town ever had a knack to let me finish my own sentences. It was always, I knew you missed me! From Tyler and a, Hey Wednesday, wanna hang? From Xavier.
"I was enjoying my thirty seconds of luck, that is until you showed up." I peered out the window, hoping he would walk away and do his job. He did work there, so why was he slacking just to get the nonexistent attention from me? Tyler really has to clean his act, and I'm not stating this in a constructive criticism way. It's a harsh criticism, but only a miracle could happen to sweep off the guy's idiotic state of mood.
