I've been assigned to take care of a patient named Billy Knight his past nurse was apparently very rude to him i walked into the house and I saw him sitting there in on the couch with the man who hired me he got up and left and I went to billy being cautious "hi billy" I said "hi" he spoke lowly like he was scared "hey I'm not gonna hurt you" I said as his hand swiped under his nose I heard about his nervous little tic he did "I know what your other nurse was like" I added he looked up "mean" he said I nodded
"Well I want you to know I'm nothing like that I'm here to take care of you" I said I could tell he was still uneasy so I told him I would leave him be and go set up my room once I was done I went back down stairs and saw billy watching tv he looked at me and then back to the tv "is this the flintstones?" I asked he nodded "can I watch it with you?" He looked at me and nodded I sat down next to him we watched cartoons for about 30 minutes he found Tom and jerry the funniest he had a cute little laugh
I got up and said "okay I'm gonna make dinner what would you like?" I asked he looked up at me nervously fiddling with his hands before he swiped under his nose again "whatever you make" he said I smiled lightly "billy what would you like?" I asked again knowing he was sure of what he wanted but that other nurse was such an asshole he's set in the ways she used to make him be he looked down "I really like Mac and cheese" he mumbled "oooo me too we'll have mac and cheese for dinner then" he smiled a bit and I went to the kitchen i quietly celebrated the small victory of making him smile
After I was done I came out and gave him one of the bowls he ate until he had about 3 spoonfuls left he looked fearful as he left some behind "what wrong?" I asked concerned by his expression "I can't finish" he mumbled "that's okay" I said taking his bowl and cleaning the dishes up before I heading up the stairs where I found Billy in bed and watching tv "going to bed so soon billy....it's only 7:44pm" I read on my watch "I can stay up?" he asked "yeah as long as you want" I said"sorry it's just my other nurse had me set on a certain bedtime" I nodded and said "it's okay Billy i'll be in my room come get me if you need anything" he nodded
