I've been taking care of billy for about 9 months now and he's doing so much better his nightmares have stopped he's eating a lot better and he's overall a lot happier, he smiles alot I love to see his smile I was going about my business cleaning up and such when I heard my phone ring I went to it and picked it up seeing it was my nursing headquarters I looked in confusion before answering "hello?" I said "hello nurse y/n we've noticed the improvement in Billy's mental state and we've decided because you are so good at your job we are transferring you to another patient who needs your help a lot more than Billy" my heart sank "I'm sorry but I'm going to have to decline I still have a lot more to do to help Billy" I said "it wasn't an offer it's a order" she said "no I won't do it" I stated "well then you will be released" she bitterly replied I didn't want to lose my job
"How long do I have?" I asked "well you need to be ready to go by tomorrow" she said "no no I need more time with him to say goodbye" I argued "y/n once again I'm not asking" she said I put my head down "okay" i said I hung up Billy was on the couch we had already eaten dinner "Billy?" I asked to get his attention he looked at me "can you turn that off for a minute?" I asked pointing to the tv he did and I sat next to him "Billy...I have something to tell you" I started but it was hard to put the words together in my head "so I got a call from my boss..and after today I will be transferred to another patient" I said he looked confused "what did I do?" He asked "no no Billy you didn't do anything sweetheart" I said my heart broke that he though it was something he had done
"My boss won't let me stay with you I want to I really do but I can't" tears welled up in my eyes "so you'll get a new nurse who's gonna take care of you" I said choking up he "but I don't want you to go" he said his eyes filling with tears as they started to fall down his cheeks "oh billy I don't wanna go either" I said pulling him into me I'm really gonna miss him everything about him
He helped me pack and the we went to bed we slept in my bed
When the morning came so did the tears again I hugged him tightly as did he "Im gonna miss you" he said "I'm gonna miss you too" I said "okay" he said looking down sadly I took off my bracelet and put it on his wrist "there so you won't forget about me" "I don't think I ever will" he mumbled I hugged him one last time before looking around and going out the front door "goodbye billy" i said my voice breaking "goodbye y/n"
