EPISODE 14: And so it begins

Just know this fic's upload schedule has gone from "wonky" to borderline indefinite and that's if I don't go to boarding school. Soooooo yeah, enjoy your long-awaited chapter, cause who knows when the next one comes out...

Also, I changed how I handle dialogue so now it'll look more like this

The reason I changed it was because I looked at my other chapters and how the dialogue there was and...cringed so hard I probably turned inside out for exactly two milliseconds, if I go back to change all my previous chapters remains to be seen

The students were given a week to prepare for the sports festival, of course, physical training was a top priority but quirk training was just as important, or in izuku midoria's case, it would be "energy gotten from a weird gem" training.

He was also a bit stressed by the fact that before leaving school he noticed bakugou, todoroki, and even Mr. Aizawa giving him odd looks throughout the day, they didn't believe what they were told, did they?

That would have to wait though because today was the day, yes, the greenette had just left his home for the sports festival's venue within a stadium. His mom also happened to inform him that she'd record the festival in HD so that's nice.

But there was still one concerning matter lingering in his mind above all else, above how he'll do in the sports festival, above the members of his class that didn't believe his story, above all the crap GUN is probably going to put him through, it was the very power he planned to use in from now on.

Knuckles had called him the night before to explain his condition in more detail and what he was told was...concerning, to say the least

FLASHBACK

"I'm...an anomalie?" Midoria asked the pro over the phone, clearly confused

"I don't know how to sugarcoat this kid. when I said people who absorb some of the power of the emerald from being around it a lot I wasn't lying but straight up getting a nerfed version of all the powers gotten from one is straight up unheard of, I attributed it to the fact you had it for longer than anyone I knew but..." he paused for some time "...call it me being paranoid..."

Midoria was officially worried now "is something wrong with me?"

Knuckles was once again silent for a few seconds "Even I don't know the true nature of the emeralds, they pretty mysterious so i can't confirm anything. Just needed you to know"

"sh-should we t-tell GUN about this" the boy proposed "I'm sure Mr. Coulson can-"

"GUN is already way to involved that I would like" Knuckles said, there was only one person there the could trust anyway

"W-what?" maybe he should've worded that differently

"They already have their hands full with finding the now missing emeralds as well as investigating the USJ" Knuckles explained, leaving out the final reason he didn't want GUN to know too much "which includes the Nomu which we both know should be a case study on its own"

Midoria was well aware of that, due to their involvement GUN kind of had to get involved with the investigation of the USJ attack, he also remembered the nomu and his whole 'multiple quirks' deal which was probably giving everyone a headache...though just thinking about that thing casused him to shift uncomfortably
