Midoria was currently tapping his foot at a near super human pace within the crowded starting line. The first event was an obstacle course which–to his annoyance–could likely be cleared with a single use of chaos control if he had a damn emerald. There was no use complaining though.
There was another thing on his mind though, kachaan. The ash-blonde had seemingly forgotten all about him in favour of todoroki, not surprising considering their conversion in the Locker rooms but he'd be lying if he said it wasn't an unexpected turn. Midoria at this point was undoubtedly considered the strongest one in class after the whole 'single-handedly took down an All might level threat' and he knew the class's resident explosion boy would definately mind.
Now though? It's clear that Todoroki doesn't seem okay with being in the wayside either and through that he–knowingly or not–now has bakugou firmly on his ass. So now our protagonist has to deal with two of the classes powerhouses wanting to prove something against him, which isn't even counting other members who may have a similar mindset. He said everyone wants to prove themself and he wasn't lying...what better way to prove yourself than taking down 'super deku'
"And begin!" Midnight's voice reverberated throughout the stadium to signal the start of the race and bursting Midoria's thought bubble as the greenette dashed forward while mentally preparing for the first obstacle
...he just didn't think he'd bump into it so quickly
Meanwhile, Present mic and a possibly kidnapped Aizawa were in the announcing booth giving commentary... mostly mic.
"So, Aizawa! Who do you think we should be looking out for in this fine race!" Mic inquired
Aizawa gave a simple two-word answer "the door"
True to his statement, the massive hallway/tunnel that students need to pass through at the beginning of the race was completely cramped up revealing it to be the true first obstacle
"I'm an idiot! Of course UA would pull something like this!" Izuku mentally chastised himself as he struggled to not be a victim of crowd crush "Chaos-"
The emerald-eyed teen didn't get to finish his command as he felt the temperature of the tunnel drop substantially, the reason? A duel-haired teen with no fucks given to anyone freezing the entire tunnel over and casually running out. Luckily for Izuku, it led to a sudden moment of clarity
"hold on, I can only warp short distances without an emerald! there's no need for me to say "chaos control"! seriously Izuku get your head in the game!" with that thought out of the way he quickly escaped his icy prison and the tunnel with a flash of light, he wouldn't admit it but having a "quirk" that needed no outside help was still quite exhilarating for him to fathom.
That wasn't the focus now though and so began to sprint forwards
Midoria wasn't the only one to quickly escape the ice prison, heck just about the entire hero course did so with minimal effort, especially 1A. Some examples included Yaomomo creating a pole and vaulting over the problem and Bakugou who quickly showed his prowess in destroying ice structures, isn't that a nice bit of foreshadowing?
On that note Mineta doing pretty well too...never mind he just got sent twenty feet in the air by a robot
"-from the entrance exam" the greenette thought as present mic announced the second obstacle, quickly weaving and warping around robots, though other members of his class were having other thoughts
"So this is what everyone else had to deal with in the entrance exam?" Todoroki thought as he froze an entire zero pointer in one go as well as a few others "and here I thought UA had high standards"
