Lucia and Camden - 7 years old
Malia sat in AP Biology staring out the window and paying no mind to what Mr Lewis was saying all that was running through her mind was her mom
"Uh nooo, no, no you can turn right around and go change" Maya said from the couch where she sat with her head resting on Carina's chest while they watched The Crown
"But mommm" She whined looking at Carina for back up
"No Malia, go change you wil not leave this house looking like that you're only 15 years old" Maya stressed sitting up rubbing her fingers against her temples
"It's not even that bad, Mamma please back me up" Malia begged
"Sorry bambina but I agree with your mom that outfit is too revealing for a 15 year old girl" Carina said making Malia huff in defeat
She turned around and stomped back to her room to change and came back with some ripped distressed jeans
"Thank you bub that better" Maya smiled
"Whatever" Malia mumbled
"I'll get a ride home from someone" She said walking out slamming the door
"Why can't she stay little forever? I did not sign up for this attitude" Maya sighed "She use to be so nice and always attached to me now I barely see her
That night Maya got called into a five alarm fire at a big building downtown it was it was bad. They spent hours and hours trying to get everyone out and Maya unfortunately got caught in the cross fire.
She pushed Warren out the way as one of the support beams can down making almost half the floor above collapse on top of her
Station 19 spent 1 and a half hours to free her by that point she had sustained a number of life threatening injuries and was unconscious and barely breathing when they finally got her to the Aidcar rushing her to Grey Sloan
And that was where Maya was currently still
This was the 3rd month in a coma and Carina had insisted Malia go back to school after the incident so she doesn't fall behind but Malia hadn't been able to concentrate in school cause her mind was too focused on Maya and the fact that she didn't even tell her that she loved her when she rushed off to that party
She snapped out of her daze when her cousin AJ put her hand on her shoulder
"Hey Lia, let's go"
AJ was Andy and Robert's daughter she and Malia was born only 7 months apart and everyone called her AJ cause not only did she look like Andy but she was also named Andrea
"Huh? Oh" She realized school was out and it was only them left in class
"Auntie Carina asked if we could pick the twins up from school" AJ said as they got in her car she got as a sweet sixteen gift
"I can you drop me off at the hospital" Malia asked
"Okay we can get the twins drop them off at the station and then head to the hospital or do you want to bring the twins with I'm sure they'd like to see their mommy" AJ said pulling up to the twins' school
"No, I wanna go alone so please just drop me off" Malia said wiping a rogue tear that escaped her eyes
"Ciao!" Lucia and Camden said getting into the backseat putting on their seatbelts
"Hey!"
"Ciao" Malia gave them a weak smile
"Can we go see mommy today?" Lucia asked quietly looking at her older sister
AJ and Malia made eye contact and Malia nodded
"Yes we're going to see her now" Malia said and the twins cheered
Malia: We're going to see mommy with the twins
Malia texted on the family groupchat which includes the whole Station 19 family their kids and Amelia and Jo from the hospital

"Hi Mommy" The Deluca-Bishop kids greeted walking into Maya's hospital room
"Hi auntie Maya" AJ followed them in
The twins rambled on about the days they haven't seen Maya telling what she's missed
"Mommy my tooth is lose! The bottom one" Camden said wiggling it with his tongue
"See" he grinned
Just then Carina walked in and AJ left the family and headed home
Malia stood up and wrapped her arms around her Mamma and sobbed
"I know bambina, Lo so" Carina said rubbing her oldest' back to sooth her
"Non piangere sorella" Lucia said wrapping her arms around her sisters legs (Don't be said sissy)
Malia pulled away from her Mamma and smiled at her little sister
"Mommy, tomorrow is sissy's birthday you have to wake up and tell her happy birthday, okay?" Camden whispered in his mommy's ear so the others couldn't hear
They spent the whole day by Maya's bedside and finally left around 6 o'clock and headed home
The following day they made their way back to the hospital after Carina and the twins had given her gifts and made her breakfast
She was receiving messages from everyone but she only wanted to hear from one person
Once they made it to the hospital Malia carefully laid on her mom with her head on her chest silently crying
"Mommy you have to wake up, it's my birthday, pleasee" Malia cried
But what they didn't know is that Maya woke up earlier that morning at about 5am and was checked out the doctors on early morning rounds
Amelia reminded her about Malia's birthday telling her she chose the perfect day to wake up
She fell back asleep at around 7am though
Maya shifted hearing her daughter's soft sobs
After a few minutes her blue eyes opened and scanned the room
"Mommy!" the twins cried out
"Hi" she rasped out and Carina quickly got her some water
"Thanks babe" Maya smiled and Carina nodded smiling teary-eyed
"Happy birthday my sweet Malia" she smirked
And Malia sobbed in her mommy's embrace "I'm sorry for being so mean. I love you mommy"
"I love you too Liabear"
"I love you all so much" Maya smiled making eye contact with her wife and then the twins
"I love you" Carina mouthed
"I love you too Mommy!" the twins cried and Carina sat them on the bed and went to the nurse's station to have them page Amelia
"This is the best Birthday gift ever" Malia smiled
