Noelle's POV
I jerked up from my bed. Sweaty and fatigued (even after that slumber). The girls came into my room.
"Are you okay? your door was locked and we heard you were screamin in your sleep!" Marina patted my back
"T-there was this voice and, and-"
"Sweetie you can tell us later. You seem really tired." Ariana said
"I picked the lock last night and when you were on the floor, you were sweating! That useless nurse said you were just hot..." Holly checked my temperature and Poppy stuck a thermometer in my mouth.
"Ow! Hot!" Holly blew on her burnt hand
"Eek!" The thermometer exploded into a puddle of lava
"That's quite odd. The daughter of Elsa not being -160 degrees." Paris held her chin thoughtfully
"I'm gonna take a shower and then we'll talk about the whole Roybel scenario when I get dressed."
After that, we managed to get like 68 people to be Roybels from yesterday.
Subsequently, we gained three more Roybels.
"Only two left!" Paloma squealed
"We can do that later. Let's get back to school for the next Orientation assembly." Paris got into a worry flurry and hurried us.
Today we sat with Rebels.
Grimm gave another long speech before we walked onto the stage. I grabbed the microphone and told everyone about the whole Roybel clique and how two people from the crowd need to be Roybels.
I was gob-smacked to see Ashylnn and Briar walk onto the stage
"Royals treat Rebels like gross peasants and vice versa. I'm not about that life." Ashylnn looked solemnly
"Yeah! Some Royals hate my parties when I invite Rebels. Like seriously, not cool and Rebels hate on Royals everyday." Briar thumped her chest and put up the peace sign.
Baba Yaga grudged into the large space between Royals and Rebels and moved her hands and chanted something. Thrones appeared but they were in the form of benches, like Rebels and Royals!
"Thanks Madame Yaga." I smiled at her
"Consider it the last nice thing I do." Baba Yaga hopped on her floating totum and flew to her Chicken Cottage. The Roybels all sat down together happily,
"Now that a new 'clique' has been sorted, this assembly has been adjourned." Grimm walked off as the student body dispersed.
Apple walked up to me,
"I've moved the showdown to right now. Get dressed." She stalked off.
I clenched my fists and got dressed in a flash.
When I got to the Enchanted Forest, I was shocked to see the entire Second Year cheering on the bleachers, Apple was on the track, and she was wearing a red jumpsuit. Dexter was filming while Blondie was commentating
"On your marks..." Blondie yelled
"Get set," Blondie shouted
"GO! GO! GO!" The golden-haired girl bellowed
This was hurdles, you get extra points if you make the fences yourself, I could see Apple made hers out of branches, no doubt that a boy and birds did it. After much training, I created fences from my eyes made out of ice.
Apple tripped on one of the branches and fell over while I raced into the ribbon finish line.
Roars erupted around me as I smiled at my victory.
"There's two more challenges, you haven't won yet." Apple pushed past me
Our next challenge was fighting.
If I can whoop Jerome I can handle Apple.
Apple grabbed my arm and twisted it behind my back.
I kicked her in the stomach before jumping in the air with my leg stretched out. Apple deflected me and smacked my face, I grabbed her foot and flipped her to the ground.
2 - Noelle 0 - Apple
The next challenge was, gulp, Waterfall diving!
Apple jumped in first, birds and creatures put flowers in her hair and lifted her up from her bathing suit just as her pinkie toe touched the water.
It was my turn next and I had to take a deep breath
"You're a ugly coward, just like your mother." Apple whispered in my ear. This only got me even more motivated, talk about me all you want but family is a line you can't cross.
I dived head-first towards the water, flowers and snowflakes threaded their way through my hair and around my body, but Apple's voice echoed in my ear
"You're an ugly coward, just like your mother."
Anger pulsed through my veins and suddenly, a fiery dragon bursted out from my heart, though I was shocked, and despite the dumb-founded gasps from the spectators, I didn't even flinch,
The dragon twirled around me as my long hair floated alongside with it with the flowers. I plunged into the water with a small splash.
I rose up from the water, flames and snowflakes surrounding me as everybody made a pathway for me. Oddly enough, my hair was perfectly curled and dry, just like the rest of my body. I was more tan than before.
Blondie and Dexter ran to me.
"Noelle, what was that?"
"I- I don't know! I just thought about how angry Apple made me about my mom that-"
"Apple insulted your mom?"
"Yes but you can interview me later, I gotta go." I grabbed the girls and left.
Paris flicked open her compact mirror
"You really think this is the time for a face check?" May frowned
"Ice beings with Heat powers." Paris spoke into the mirror
"Oh." May hadn't realised that Paris' compact mirror could link to the MirrorNet.
"Ice humans with fire powers are incredibly rare and only run in the Arendelle family. Recently, a magazine interview with Queen Elsa revealed ice wasn't her only magic. Luckily, everyone was much more accepting than before. It is believed both of her children are blessed but only can activate their powers when they are truly furious about something they cherish." Paris read aloud the article from Fairypedia.
"I need to speak with my mom." I huffed
I opened a hologram of my mom.
"You found it, right?"
"How could you not tell me!"
"Sweetie, I'm sorry. We all have our secrets."
"You told a magazine over me!"
"Darling, I never told them. I was caught! This is a lot to take in. Don't let fire interrupt you being the next Elsa."
"I need some time to think."
I switched it off. I decided to put this out of my brain and have a Gossip-Fest.
I took this time to tell the girls about what happened with Frost, and how we shared something magical and about the creepy voice that sent me to sleep.
"Legacy Day is in two weeks and once you sign nothing can harm you." Ariana reassured me.
"Yeah girl! We're here for you. In fact, how about we all sleep in Noelle's room today!" Paloma declared
"Yeah!"
"Ooh! Let me whip up some of my famous lotions!" Adele ran off to the MirrorLab.
"Thanks guys." I grinned gratefully
"Don't mention it!" Jade smiled sympathetically
