Hello, my dear friends.

- Grandma, I’m here!
Eda Yildiz, a young entrepreneur with a brilliant career in the world of work, was faced with a myriad of Christmas lights that illuminated the avenue full of plants and flowers in front of her grandmother Semiha Yildiz’s house.

- My granddaughter, welcome! Oh, come here and let me hug you, I haven’t seen you for so long! You’re so tall now!

Semiha Yildiz hugged warmly her niece Eda, whom she hadn’t seen for a long time since she was always very busy with the work that kept her stuck in the city of another state, while her grandmother lived in a large house in the countryside, in a small village lost and inhabited by a few people but surrounded by nature.

Eda immediately noticed, with a careful look, that the house outside had remained as she remembered: high white walls with blue shutters surrounded by many flowers and small trees now adorned with Christmas lights.

The atmosphere of the Christmas period was felt throughout the small town and Eda hadn't helped but observe how each house and each street were decorated for the holidays, creating a special festive atmosphere.

Going back to that house after several years was extremely difficult for Eda, since now there lived only the memories of her childhood, in the life before the death of her parents, a happy life full of serenity that now belonged only rarely to the new Eda, always stormed by the frenzy of the city and the work deadlines, holding a position in an important company.

All in all, however, Eda had learned over time to get used to the chaos of the city, detaching from the quiet that characterized the environment in the countryside and remaining overwhelmed by the rush and dynamism of the city, ending up falling in love with it and rejecting the idea of returning, even for a short time, to her home of origin.

- Grandma, Grandma! You’re keeping me from breathing!

Eda stuttered, wrapped in the arms of the old lady.

- I missed you too, Granny.

Semiha welcomed Eda and helped her move her luggage into the bedroom originally for her and then invited her to have tea together.

It was late in the afternoon and shortly after Semiha would start preparing dinner but she set aside some time before starting to help Eda settle down and, above all, took the opportunity to catch up with her niece.

- Tell me, Eda: how is your life going? Work? Friends? And… Love?
- Granny, calm down! I’m fine, the work is going great and I’m always very busy with it: this will be the first week after years in which I will not work for anything even if... Oh no, a call from the office... Excuse me, I have to answer!

- Eda, in a few days it’s Christmas! Who is calling you on these days of celebration?
- Sorry, Grandma, I’ll be right there... Yes, hello! It’s me!

Eda went away for a good half hour, heading to talk on the phone on the veranda in front of the house and, without noticing, she found herself in the garden of the property, sitting on the swing now old and worn out by time and starting to swing as she used to do as a child.

- No, Derin! That budget has to be completely redone. Notify the director of the department and ask him to send it to me by tomorrow. And for the deadline of the project, you have to urge the team because we are almost close to the date... Yes, Derin. No, Derin...

Eda kept talking on the phone while swinging on the swing when suddenly she heard loud music getting closer and closer to her, coming from a dark red pick-up that traveled the dirt road next to the Yildiz house to park in the driveway in front of a small brick house, right next to her house, and evidently newly built since it was the first time that Eda noticed it, not having looked at it even when she had arrived a few hours earlier.
